God's Will Bible Verse Explained

Let's begin, shall we? Have you ever considered how most people are very selfish and seek only their own will in any given matter? It is something that seems to have been bred into people. Unfortunately, this applies to Christians and even their prayer life as well. But, the Bible teaches us of another better way to be.

Colossians 3:2-3

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Jesus speaks of establishing Treasures in Heaven ...

Luke 12:29-34

29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the Kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.
33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a Treasure in the Heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Jesus spoke of seeking the Kingdom of God as to attain these treasures.

Jesus shared a parable with us:

Matthew 13:44

Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

In the God's Will Bible verse, Jesus made it clear ... We must actually choose to surrender our worldly ideologies and desires to attain these treasures:

Mark 10:21

Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have Treasure in Heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

God's Will Be Done Bible study tidbit of Truth ... How do we attain and maintain the desire to seek the Kingdom of God and establish these treasures in Heaven? First we must seek to remove the sins within us that cause us to see things wrong.

This can be done by repenting and prayer. But within us, we also harbor secret and presumptuous sins which we are unaware of and we should pray them away as well.

Psalm 19:12-13

12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

God's Will Be Done Warning
What is God's Will Bible Verse Danger

"Secret faults" are the things that we do that are wrong or sins, but we do not know they are wrong.

But, once we do know ... It is no longer a secret sin:

James 4:17

Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Psalm 19:12-13 also spoke of presumptuous sins ... "Presumptuous sins" are the result from when we presume ourselves to be right in a matter when we are not or when we think we know something and do not. We presume to know because of limited facts accumulated or bias of some sort. This is commonplace especially when we allow pride to infiltrate our soul when we feel hurt by someone or are defending a cause we feel is righteous, usually for personal gain.

A good example would be when we defend our friends. We presume that our friend must be right and the other wrong. This is partiality and is wrong:

1 Timothy 5:21

I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect Angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

We know what we are supposed to do when confronted:

Colossians 3:13

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

Presumptuous sin springs forth when we seek our own will, as compared to God's will.

God's will be done ... What does that mean, anyway? Let us seek within the what is God' s Will Bible verse Scriptures for Truth ... Jesus told the Apostles what was to become of Him and the Apostles were none to happy with His Words. I want to share a little bit with you about God's Will versus man's will.

Mark 8:31-33

31 And He began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
32 And He spake that saying openly. And Peter took Him, and began to rebuke Him.
33 But when He had turned about and looked on His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

Saying God's Will Be Done Matters
God's Will Bible Verse Vow

Now, you know that this must have freaked Peter out. Peter assumed that he was merely showing his passion about Jesus not being killed and suddenly he is called "Satan" by His Lord.

Peter and the Apostles looked on what was transpiring from a point of view of their own selfish desire. They believed that Jesus was going to become an earthly King and they would rule with Him at that time. The Apostles were blinded by their own will and understood not God's Will. They saw not the whole picture tho what Jesus shared with them had been foretold in prophecy.

Isaiah 53:3-10

3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.
4 Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not his mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He openeth not His mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare His generation? For He was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was He stricken.
9 And He made His grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death; because He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in His mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He hath put Him to grief: when thou shalt make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.

In that God's Will Bible verse Scripture, it is pretty obvious that this was Prophecy about the Death of Jesus for our sins, huh? Peter definitely learned of the God's will be done prophecy after he was rebuked by Jesus because in his later writings, he confirms this:

1 Peter 2:24

Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

God's Will Be Done Promise
God's Will Bible Verse on Humility

Let's look at what Jesus said after He corrected Peter:

Mark 8:34-37

34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

We are to surrender our own worldly passions and serve the Lord. We are to surrender our own will and seek to do the will of GOD. But, how do we surrender our will and adhere to God's in our day to day lives? We can do so by verbally saying aloud that we seek God's Will be done over our own ...

James 4:15

For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

We are being told that when we say we are going to do this or that. That we should add the words "IF it is God's will" or "God's will be done" ... My friend, we are taught from the what is God's Will Bible verse study that anything that we ask, (even in prayer) that we are to ask according to God's will.

1 John 5:14

And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us ...

God's Will Be Done reminder ... We are to always ask ... GOD'S will be done when praying. Even Jesus did so:

Matthew 26:42

He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, Thy will be done.

Here is a what is God's Will Bible verse question ... Why is it important to seek God's will be done when we are merely praying for another? Here is a great example of why we are to be sure it is God's will. We are told not to wish God Speed to those who seek not God's will:

2 John 1:11

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

So, obviously we know not the HEART of man and we are to prove all things before we pray for something.

1 Thessalonians 5:21

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

God's Will Be Done While Praying
God's Will Bible Verse and Prayer

This is especially important when you're praying for others. Consider this if you will ... What if someone asks you to pray for a specific reason for them, or what if you, in the goodness of your heart, take it upon yourself to pray for something that someone didn't ask for, but you believe it would be a blessing for them.

Innocently, you pray for them, but unbeknownst to you, the prayer is not God's will for them. The prayer is not answered in the way hoped for, and questions arise about believing to receive, and asking in Jesus' name, and innumerable other doubts. In particular if you prayed openly. This can be harmful to their Faith, and yours. Not only this, but if the prayer does come to pass, if it was not God's will, this can be devastating in unimaginable ways.

Here is an example of a What is God's Will Bible verse meaning concern ... What if a woman asked you to pray that her husband was brought back to her and you did pray for that to be done. But, you did not know he was physically abusive. When he did return, he beat her again and this time ... She died.

When you pray for someone else, always be certain, that you're praying for God's will by saying the words God's will be done. This goes for what we pray for ourselves as well. Praying for God's will to be done in our lives may be a little hard to grasp at first, because the human creature is naturally a selfish being.

We want what we want. But, what about what God wants? He is our Creator, after all. He owns the remote control of our lives. He created a plan for us, but sometimes we think we are the ones in control. We think we know what is best for us and create many ideas on how to get what we want, but in the end. God's Will be done.

Proverbs 19:21

There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.

Here is another God's Will Be Done tidbit of Truth. If we are honest with ourselves. Our worldly desires fade. In particular once we obtain them and experience the disappointment and many times the pain and suffering from attaining our own will:

1 John 2:17

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

So, let us seek to fulfill God's Will and let God's will be done and not our own ...

Hebrews 10:36

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Our ... What is God's will Bible verse study on how to practice of saying God's will be done in your day to day life including prayer time reveals that you should be certain that what you ask for is God's will to be done in every matter because in the end, God 's will is what is best for you and others you pray for. I pray that you hear and adhere to the Truth shared today.

God's will be done!
