Is it animal, vegetable or mineral? It's a question that was popular half a century ago on game shows, and still is today for trivia buffs, charade games, etc. The question we're going to explore together today in our All creation praises God study, is not really if everything in God's creation falls into one of these three limited categories, but rather do we unintentionally limit God's creations to three categories?

At any rate, what then is the question we are going to research? To tell you the truth, it is not a question actually, but just an observation that seems to have made itself manifest in Scriptures to this soul several times as of late. Let's delve into this together as we explore the majestic God Wonders, in our trek for truth.

God Wonders and Miracles

All Creation Praises God for the Wonders of God

We, the faithful, believe that everything was created by God ... Period. And when you dig a little deeper into Scripture, beyond the Creation Story itself, we discover that the "Creation," is truly much more complicated than one would or could imagine.

We know how complicated and complex man and his existence is. The miracle of human and animal life and all of it's senses and emotions and healing ability and procreation and just looking at the uniqueness of each and every single creature since God's creation, is all just so marvelous that it is difficult to wrap one's mind around how awe inspiring our Creator is.

In fact, our Creator is so awesome, that we really don't fathom how much praise He is due for all of the wonders of God. Let's look at a few of those God Wonders Scriptures aforementioned to bring to mind and heart why all creation praises God and should.

Psalm 96

1 O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing unto the Lord, bless His name; shew forth his Salvation from day to day.
3 Declare His glory among the heathen, His wonders among all people.
4 For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: He is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the Heavens.
6 Honour and majesty are before Him: strength and beauty are in His Sanctuary.
7 Give unto the Lord, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength.
8 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name: bring an offering, and come into His courts.
9 O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before Him, all the earth.
10 Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.
11 Let the Heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
13 Before the Lord: for he cometh, for He cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with His truth.

Psalm 98:4-8

4 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
5 Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.
6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King.
7 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
8 Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together.

Psalm 65:11-13

11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.
12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.
13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.

Psalm 77:14-19

14 Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.
15 Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.
16 The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.
17 The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.
18 The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.
19 Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.

Truly Wonders of God indeed! But you know, these God Wonders are all around us and we need only open our eyes, minds and hearts as to partake of these breathtaking God Wonders. In other words, do not forget to stop and smell His roses as you sojourn down the Christian path. Ooooooops, I got lost there for a second, let's get back to our All creation praises God journey.

Isaiah 55:12

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Just a few verses earlier we read this:

Isaiah 55:8-11

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Sooooooo, is anything impossible for God?

Luke 1:37

For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Personification of seemingly lifeless things are common in the Bible, so why do we dismiss it, or not really ponder on it as carefully as maybe we should? Think about the Wonders of God for a minute. The earth, the moon and the sun are all planets that are personified in the Bible. Take a look at this All creation praises God statement made by John the Baptist:

Matthew 3:9

And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

Jesus points this out to us:

Luke 19:37-40

37 And when He was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
40 And He answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

If all of these wonders of God seem a little too extraordinary, here's a little something from the Apostle Paul, that I would like to share with you:

Romans 1:20

For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

In other words, with all of the God wonders surrounding us and seemingly impossible things that God does, His omnipotence and such. He has made these things obvious, and He has manifested miracles before our very eyes, so we have no reason to claim that we are ignorant of His divinity or that anything is impossible with God and the Wonders of God are limitless.

Romans 8:19-22

19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

When reading that last scripture, keep in mind that 'creation' and 'creature' both have the same root word 'create.' This does not mean only 'mankind' or of the animal genus, but the whole creation groaneth and travaileth. Let's return to our All creation praises God voyage to continue what Paul was saying:

Romans 8:23-26

23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Okay, let's take a God Wonders pit stop for a minute. Now, this may seem to be off the subject a bit and you may be pinching your chin wondering where this is going. Well, have you ever noticed that humans are not the only of one of God's creations that respond to things. Many things that are not human groan, flourish, suffer, heal, cycle. The point is ... Creation is alive, even though we don't think of it as such if it isn't breathing. What if all creation praises God?

Colossians 1:16

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Perhaps other forms of creation also commune with the Holy Spirit and groan ... And all creation praises God too!

These things have the ability to leap, praise, cry, rejoice. Is it incomprehensible that these things have souls too? I mean after all, these wonders of God are done by His choice to create as are these other species created by His choice.

There are also many 'concepts' and intangible things that are personified in the Bible as well. Love, wisdom, understanding, charity, sin/evil, are we to surmise that maybe they have a sort of soul as well? God knows. But, as we continue down our God Wonders trail, please consider this:

Revelation 20:14

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Are we to believe that all of this Scripture is fiction? Are Scriptures just clever verbal dances to enthrall us? Should we take them a litter more literally? These are questions we might want to ask ourselves ... What if? The Bible says to test the spirits.

Were the parables that Jesus bestowed upon us so that we could be blessed with wisdom simply represent hyperbole, personification, or metaphor? Perhaps we should consider further. Ponder, use your own imagination, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in your investigation of this fascinating topic. Maybe things that we think are simply inanimate. Are really more! Maybe it is true that ALL creation praises God for the awesome Wonders of God including creation of said species.

A figure of speech? Allegory, similes, idioms, and analogies?

Balaam's donkey saw an Angel in the path ahead with a sword drawn intended for Balaam and she turned out of the way. When Balaam tried to continue, the donkey crushed his foot against a wall, and the third time, she fell down under him. Balaam smote her all three times and then Balaam's eyes were opened and the donkey spoke to Balaam explaining that she wasn't just being a stubborn mule. Of course it was God's doing. But this is proof that nothing is impossible with God and the Spiritual realm is much more than we are aware of.

How many of these Scriptural examples of the Wonders of God are also attributable to the Spiritual realm and not merely comparisons? Maybe we just don't think 'spiritually' enough.

This God Wonders voyage is certainly not a complete collection of Scriptural turn of phrase, but perhaps it's enough to 'open the doors of your imagination' (could not resist) a little wider when you read your Bible from now on and as we make our way into the Wonders of God Wonderland.

Our purpose in life, each and every one of us is to reveal the glory of God. Dare we think that the rest of His creation, those things without human form, do not enjoy the same opportunity to glorify their Creator? We may, with our bustling busy agendas fail to seize that opportunity to our full potential. Perhaps we should look upon the Wonders of God with more respect on the vast amounts of God's magnificent creation and consider that many of them have nothing to do except share in the exaltation of our Father as all Creation Praises God and take note.

In short ... This God Wonders Bible adventure has shared that all creation praises God for the absolutely awe inspiring Wonders of God and that we certainly should take as much time as we can each day to do so too. Seek out these mysterious and miraculous God Wonders. They are all around you.

From the poem Aurora Leigh
by Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Earth's crammed with Heaven,
And every common bush afire with God:
But only he who sees, takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it, and pluck blackberries,
And daub their natural faces unaware
More and more, from the first similitude.

All Creation Praises God and the Wonders of God or at least should be. Are you? Take better notice of God Wonders. It will uplift and enlighten your soul.
