Defending Faith Itself - Defending Your Faith
How to Defend Your Faith Instructions
Sooner or later, it’s inevitable, every Christian will find
themselves (you too have or will as well) in a situation where
they/you are forced into defending your Faith. Friends, family,
co-workers, even strangers may attack the beliefs that make up who
you are ... A Christian. This isn’t a new trick of the devil
’s tho ... He has been using this one since the beginning of
man. But, we have a hero, named Jesus Christ, and a manual called the
Holy Bible, which can guide us in Truth, whenever our convictions are
questioned which shows you how to defend your faith.
The trials and tribulations that we face in our Christian walk of
Faith are all tests of the devotion we have to our Savior. It’s
our Faith that gets us through, and dedication to our Faith is what
insures us of the eternal life we hope for.
The most important thing to remember is that there’s only One
that you have to answer to, and that is God! That’s the bottom
line. But it’s those lines in the middle that become a problem
sometimes.
Nobody can tell you what words to say, to make people accept your
choice to follow the Lord, because everyone is different, both
believers and unbelievers. Some may be converted by your devotion and
fidelity, and others may disassociate themselves completely from you.
You’ll find however, that the deeper your commitment is to
Jesus Christ, the more peace of mind you’ll have with the
outcome of your confrontations with those people who disagree with
you.
Don’t be surprised when even your family contends with you about
your Faith.

How to Defend Your Faith Today
JESUS ... Predicted that this would happen.
Matthew 10:36
And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.
Luke 21:16
And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and
kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to
death.
He said that a person’s enemies would be within their own
family. Some will even think that they’re doing a God service
by challenging you ...
John 16:2
They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that
whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
Check out this Defending your Faith morsel of truth ... Jesus
explains that He didn’t come to bring peace on earth, but
rather, division. The father against the son, and the mother against
the daughter.
Luke 12:53
The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the
father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the
mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the
daughter in law against her mother in law.
Why? To prove who is devoted to Him.

How to Defend Your Faith Explained
Jesus
said that when things happen to us because of our belief in Him, we’re
blessed, and we’ll be rewarded in Heaven.
Matthew 5:11-12
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and
shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven:
for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Jesus said that if we love our father or mother more than Him, we
’re not worthy of Him.
Matthew 10:37
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and
he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Luke words this a little differently, saying that if we don’t
hate our mother, father, wife, children, brothers and sisters
and our own life also, we can’t be His disciples.
Luke 14:26
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife,
and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also,
he cannot be my disciple.
Whoa! Defending your Faith is very important, but you may be thinking
that “hate” is a pretty strong word, and just the opposite of what
Jesus taught when He said, (Matthew 19:19)
Honor your father and mother, and love your
neighbor as yourself.

How to Defend Your Faith Concerns
What Jesus was doing when He said those things, was making a point,
that He doesn’t want a bunch of followers who are half
heartedly loyal, He wants total devotion. That doesn’t mean
that everyone who follows Christ should abandon their family and
friends or quit their job (although in some instances, it may be
necessary), but rather, don’t ever let them become your
priority over Him. And that hate part ... that’s referring to
the worldly things about them, not their righteous qualities.
Another thing Jesus said, concerning how to defend your Faith is that
there is nobody that has left house or family or homes for His sake
and the Gospel’s, that wont receive a hundred times as much in
the world to come.
Mark 10:29
Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or
brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or
lands, for my sake, and the Gospel’s.
Remember that Jesus said that those who do the will of His Father
are his mother and brother and sister:
Matthew 12:50
For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in Heaven, the
same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
It sounds to me like you have a new family, or should I say - Another
family!
Stand by your beliefs. As you can see, the world doesn’t have a
very good track record. (The news proves that every day.) The world
(that includes your family) is being slow-poisoned, by evil and
wickedness. You don’t have to swallow what everyone else does.
That’s why Jesus is calling you, because you haven’t
blindly followed the rest of the sheep to the slaughter. Keep your
feet firmly planted in Faith, and remember Truth.
James 4:4
Know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?
whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy
of God.
1 John 2:15
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any
man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

How to Defend Your Faith Adventure
Again, this doesn’t mean to hate the world that God created,
and to harbor hatred in your heart for everything and everyone. God
doesn’t want that at all. God loves the world.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting
life.
Love all, and love the life that God gave you, but discern the evil
and hate the evil. Another Defending Faith morsel on how to defend
your Faith is to stay as far away from evil as you can, because you
become as what you surround yourself with, so surround yourself with
things that remind you of God and your walk with Him.
Your eyes are the portal to the soul, so wouldn’t it be a good
idea to influence your soul with holy things? We are greatly
influenced by what our eyes are exposed to. How true and Biblically
sound is this? Jacob influenced his father-in-law Laban’s
flocks to bear striped, speckled, and spotted offspring by facing the
animals toward tree branches that he peeled in striped, speckled and
spotted patterns (Genesis 30:37-39).
If you want to be conformed to the image
of God, surround yourself with Godly things.
Determine in your heart, be certain, have no shadow of a doubt that
following Christ is the right way to go, not following the world. I
know it’s a tough thing when your own family doesn’t
understand your Faith, because hey, they’re your family and you
have a natural emotional connection to them called love, but for a
moment think of it this way: What if they were someone else’s
family? Would you feel so torn apart because you believe in
righteousness, and they follow after the world on their leashes?
If a stranger disagreed with your beliefs, it would mean little to
you, and you wouldn’t have any problem defending your Faith to
them. But family is a different story. Defending Faith shows you’re
more dedicated to your cause, than to your family. Most
people don’t want to jeopardize the love of their family for
anything, and Jesus knew this. Now you can see clearer, why Jesus
said that He came to bring division, and He will separate the sheep
from the goats
Matthew 25:31-34
31 When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy Angels
with Him, then shall He sit upon the Throne of His glory:
32 And before
Him shall be gathered all nations: and He shall separate them one
from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And He
shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, ye blessed
of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world.
Defending Faith - Defending Your Faith Importance
How to Defend Your Faith Path
Ask yourself what the Truth is. What’s most important to you?
Your family and the world, or your Faith in Christ? That doesn’t
mean you have to sever your communication with your family, but you
do have to change your attitude. Jesus said to pray for those who are
against you, because if you only bless those who love you, everything
is even. You’ve done nothing extraordinary.
Matthew 5:43-46
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour,
and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless
them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them
which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the
children of your Father which is in Heaven: for he maketh his sun to
rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on
the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye?
do not even the publicans the same.
You’re not alone. Every Christian faces this defending your
Faith dilemma, whether it be with their family or others. You have
God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and all your Christian brothers and
sisters who support you in choosing Christ. Instead of feeling like
you have to end your relationship with your family, perhaps one day,
maybe one, some, or all of them may be reborn, too, because
of you! You must stand firm, and whenever they oppose your Christian
beliefs, take that as an opportunity to enlighten them. Never stop
Defending your Faith! And don’t forget how the Apostles
rejoiced because they were beaten and suffered shame in the name of
Jesus for Defending Faith.
Acts 5:40-41
40 And to him they agreed: and
when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they
commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and
let them go.
41 And they departed from the presence of the council,
rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His
name.
Now, speaking of this new attitude in defending your Faith, it won
’t be easy at first, but as Christians, we’ve all gotten
a taste of how unkind people can be in trying to embarrass us about
your Faith, or prove it wrong. Most people think that Christians are
too “extreme.” Tell me, if you were Jesus, would you want
anyone to be your follower who wasn’t? There is no such thing
as being too devoted to God when it comes to defending your Faith and
how to defend your Faith.
Not only can you adapt a new attitude,
but you can enhance your Faith in a number of ways. As your Faith
grows, defending it becomes easier. A person can read the Bible word
for word from cover to cover, and not understand most of it. If you
don’t understand what you’re defending, it will be more
difficult. There are some things that you can do that will help.

How to Defend Your Faith for You
There’s a term that people use when they feel like people don’t
understand their Christian beliefs ... the lonely road of
Faith. Friends, you don’t have time to feel alone, or lonely,
because this website alone, has more than 5,000 pages about
Christianity. If you’re unimpressed by the world now, wait
until you learn more about God’s world! Let’s just say
you studied one page a day, it would take you over 13 years to read
them all. The more you learn about the Faith itself, Defending Faith
will become easier for you to walk the walk of Faith and fight the
good fight, and your feeling of being alone on your journey will be
replaced with eagerness to do God’s will in whatever way He has
planned for you to glorify Him. Defending your Faith will come
natural.
What about Christian camaraderie? You can always visit with fellow
Christians and share your thoughts with others who are going through
the same perseverance that you are. Perhaps share tips on how to
defend your Faith. It’s always comforting to know you’re
not the only one who has ever gone through this Defending Faith issue.
Don’t be fooled by people who want you to prove things about your
Faith to them. Faith is belief in something that has no proof! If
something can be proven, it takes no Faith to believe in it.
What about love? Most people believe in love ... Do they not know
that God is love?
1 John 4:8
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
How then, can a person believe in love, and not in God?
That’s a great question to ask the Faithless.
Defending Your Faith Responses
Can you expect everything to go perfectly? Heaven’s no. Nothing’s
perfect, except Jesus. You will fall. everybody does. The
difference is whether you choose to wallow in pools of self pity when
you fall, or you get back up on your feet and persist. Pick up where
you left off. Make a mental note of what caused your stumbling and
try, try again.
Pray for the Holy
Spirit to guide you and strengthen you. If you’re a
Christian soldier, He supplies your ammunition and your armor. He is
your offense and your defense. Trust in Him. He will provide you with
Truth.
Jesus said not to worry about what to say, because it will be
given to you in that same hour, what you should say. Because it isn
’t you that speaks, but the Spirit of your Father, which speaks
in you.
Matthew 10:19-20
19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall
speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall
speak.
20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father
which speaketh in
you.

How to Defend Your Faith Conclusion
The emotions you’re feeling if your family disagrees with you
are very common, you’ll find. And they’re also a part of
the trials and tribulations that you read about in the Bible.
Overcome those emotions with Truth, like the scripture passages that
you’ve been reading within the Defending your Faith Bible
verses.
If you ever find yourself skating through your life as a Christian
and things are going just perfectly in every way, that’s when
you should be alarmed. Satan doesn’t just give up on Christians
who pass certain requirements. No, the closer they get to God, the
more the devil turns up the heat (through temptations and trials).
That’s why you hear those “crazy” Christians in the
Bible (the Apostles) talk about rejoicing in tribulation.
James 1:12
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has
stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has
promised to those who love Him.
It looks like you have some celebrating to do, because you’re

facing prove it! Stand firm when Defending your Faith and continue to
ask God for ways on how to defend your Faith.
Philippians 1:27-28
27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ:
that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of
your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind
striving together for the faith of the gospel;
28 And in nothing
terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of
perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
Because ... Many are called, but few are chosen.
Matthew 20:16
So the last shall be first,
and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Many Called, Few Chosen ...
