Lost Sheep Bible Verse Parable
Lost Sheep in the Bible Story

The Bible provides a parable of Jesus, asking us to seek the lost sheep.

Luke 15:4-7

4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

What is a "Lost Sheep?"

A lost sheep is a lost soul caught up in a darkness that they cannot escape. Someone who lives in such darkness that they cannot find their way out. God calls other souls as to reach out for these lost sheep. But, how does one go about accomplishing such a task? I mean, who are we to try and reach some strangers? And we are supposed to try and reach and teach these Lost sheep?

Lost Sheep Bible Verse Explained
What Are the Lost Sheep in the Bible

Now, before you allow the enemy of our souls (Satan) to talk you into believing that you could in no way be special or worthy enough to get involved and the thought of little ole you being called by God may seem a little far fetched but, ponder on this Truth ... That is exactly who God has called to perform this task, according to the Bible:

1 Corinthians 1:26-28

26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

God uses the rejects of the world if ya will. Those who feel they are worthless. Those who are found to be unworthy by the world. So this means you may be a loner or even be known by others and even yourself as weird or strange ...

God has called the peculiar souls to serve Him.

1 Peter 2:9

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Awesome huh?

In Truth ... God uses souls who do not even know they are being used.

For example ...

John 9:1-3

1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

Note that this soul did no wrong to be blinded. This man was blinded from birth for the sole purpose of being used that day as a tool for God to bring many souls to Salvation thru Jesus.

We too are used as God sees fit to bring forth His purpose. Oft times by our past experiences whether they be good or bad. I mean think about it ... What experiences that you deem negative or positive from your past are you now able to use to reach and teach others? What have you experienced and endured that you are or could be using to bring those lost sheep that dwell in darkness, to the light of Truth? Who better to send down a dark alley to rescue His children who are lost within the darkness ... Than someone who has been in the same darkness before and has overcome thru Him.

Sound weird? Proceed expecting weirder ...

Lost Sheep Bible Verse Calls Out
The Lost Sheep in the Bible Story

There was a Father who had a child that He loved so very much. They would hang out and talk all the time. The child was everything to the Father. Every night, they would say prayers together. Then one day, they went to the park and the child wandered away from the Father and was kidnapped by a foul spirited soul. The Father was devastated. He hired private Investigators to seek the child, but to no avail.

One day, the Father saw the child, who was now an adult and called out to the child. But, the child could not hear. They had become part of the world of those who kidnapped them away from their loving Father. The lost child (Now an adult) was doing everything the whispers of the kidnappers con-vinced them to do, but also remembered deep within the whispers of their loving Father from youth echoing in their heart. Somehow the lost soul blended the messages of these two completely different voices and used them to benefit their own life as they were merely a child who had been deceived into following another path and were lost in a whirlwind.

The Father, realizing that the child would not, or better said could not, choose to return to Him on their own, chose to hire someone who had once dwelt within the same dark world that His child was within to bring forth His child out of the darkness and return the child to him. He knew that this hired soul knew the lifestyle very well and was the best candidate to reach His child. The Father promised the hired soul that if they would bring the child out, that they would be rewarded well. The hired soul agreed and slowly befriended the child and established a friendship based on common bonds as they were kindred spirits of sorts, due to living in the same darkness for so many years.

As time passed ... The hired soul began to slowly lead the child out of the darkness and towards the Father's House by reminding the lost child of their Father's Love for them. The lost child began to remember the first love between they and their Father and chose to return to the Father. As the child stood before the Father's House pondering on fond memories from their youth, the Father came running out, as fast as He could and grabbed up the child and hugged and kissed them with tears streaming from His eyes.

As He was hugging His child, the Father then looked over at the hired man, who was tattered and torn, both within and without, from a life of misery and said with a smile upon His lips and within His heart ... Thank you. You are now forgiven for your own life of sin:

James 5:20

Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
