How to Have a Personal Relationship With Jesus Christ Quest

What is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and how does one obtain and maintain a relationship with Him? The answer is ... Just as you would in any Holy union based on love. Such as marriage.

Ephesians 5:25

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the Church, and gave Himself for it ...

The Bible is comparing marriage between man and woman to the relationship between Jesus and the Church. The Bible reveals Christians as being engaged or betrothed to the Lord.

Revelation 19:7-9

7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of Saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

So, Ephesians 5:25 is talking about establishing Unconditional Love for those we love just as Jesus possesses for us. What are some of the fruits of this Unconditional Love? The Bible shares that Unconditional Love is much like Charity in that it is beyond the word "love" as it is used in casual conversations today. Here are the fruits of true and genuine Charity:

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Love ...

Why do they call it, being "in" Love? Is it like some kind of realm?

How much time do you spend with the one soul you claim to Love? How much time each week would ya think is required to establish Love? Most have heard the expression ... "Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ" but what does this mean to you?

How much time does it take to establish this personal relationship? This personal relationship with Jesus Christ the Lord which we are establishing has a purpose, just as a relationship between a man and woman blossoms from friendship to love to marriage.

What do you believe the intent on us establishing this Personal relationship with Him is? It is the same ... To establish trust, Love and a Holy union much like marriage. In Truth, the Bible says that Christians will become the Bride of Christ at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

In human marriage, the two become one.

Matthew 19:5-6

5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

The Words shared by Jesus below, express very well how Love can unify us and reveal how to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ the Lord:

John, Chapter 17

1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up His eyes to Heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2 As thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given Him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy Word is Truth.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the Truth.
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Jesus Christ the Lord is Real
How to Have a Personal Relationship With Jesus Christ Now

Jesus wants Christians to Love one another and in doing so we become one. We should refresh this Love for all others daily. I have heard of people renewing their marriage vows. Should we not consider renewing or refreshing our relationship with Jesus, in like manner?

The Bible suggests that we do.

Revelation 2:4-5

4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy First Love.
5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

How do we rekindle that First Love? How would you expect someone who loved you to show it? Spending quality time together. Establishing a real personal relationship. So, we see that we are to be preparing ourselves for this Spiritual wedding. We are, in essence, engaged to Jesus and preparing to become His bride. We are told by Jesus that those who are profitable servants while on Earth, are going to become as the Angels of God.

Matthew 22:29-30

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the Angels of God in Heaven.

So, it seems extremely important to learn how to have a personal relationship with Jesus. However, the Bible also reveals that those who choose not to prepare will not be allowed in.

Matthew 25:1-12

1 Then shall the Kingdom of Heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with Him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But He answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

Be Prepared !!!

How? By establishing the Love between you and the Lord.

Matthew 22:37

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Do you?

Do you love the Lord with all you have and are? Can you do more to enhance your personal relationship with Him? Seek to have a Real-ationship with your Lord, by spending more time with Him each day. Take time away from the worldly whirlwind to spend quality time with just Him and you will fill that void within when you discover that true essence of Love that your soul desperately seeks.

2 Thessalonians 3:5

And the Lord direct your hearts into the Love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

Then these words will come to pass ...

Revelation 19:7

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the Marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready.
