Arthritis Pain: Quaker Oats for fast pain relief ... It's not just for breakfast anymore! Mix 2 cups of Quaker Oats and 1 cup of water in a bowl and warm in the microwave for 1 minute, cool slightly, and apply the mixture to your hands for soothing relief from arthritis pain.

Athletes Foot: Soak the foot or feet in a mixture of vinegar and water.

Bad Breath: Brush teeth and tongue with baking soda.

Bee Stings: Tobacco juice will take the sting out.

Boils: For a boil crack an egg, do not throw away the shell. Gently peel the lining, carefully place the lining over the boil. After it dries a bit place a bandage of some kind over it. Leave this on over night. You may feel the egg lining tightening, this is normal. By the morning this will have either drawn the boil to a head or totally extracted the boil. If it is only drawn to a head gently prick with a sterile needle. Then, in either case wipe the area with rubbing alcohol.

Boils: Cover the boil with Hunt's tomato paste as a compress. The acids from the tomatoes soothe the pain and bring the boil to a head.

Broken Blisters: To disinfect a broken blister, dab on a few drops of Listerine .. A powerful antiseptic.

Bruises: ... Soak a cotton ball in white vinegar and apply it to the bruise for 1 hour. The vinegar reduces the blueness and speeds up the healing process.

Burns: Colgate toothpaste makes an excellent salve for burns.

Constipation: 2 Tablespoons of olive oil taken by mouth. If this continues to be a problem repeat in 3-4 hours. Another good remedy for constipation would be drinking 1 cup of hot water you can use this method with the olive oil or alone. If using alone can be repeated every 2-3 hours.

Ear Aches: I suffered with these as a child. Hold a wash cloth under some hot water, wring it out fold and place over ear--quickly. The heat will help. If you have a hot water bottle you can use this as well. 1-2 drops of mineral oil or olive oil will not only ease pain but soften any ear wax you may have. Warming the oil in your fingers also helps. 1-2 drops of rubbing alcohol will also do the trick, plus take away any itch.

Flatulence (Gas): ½ teaspoon of olive oil, taken by mouth. If it is still bothersome, it can be repeated every 5-6 hours. Also use a heating pad or warmed towel to help with cramping.

Aches From Flu: Mix 1 Tablespoon of horseradish in 1 cup of olive oil. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as a massage oil, for instant relief for aching muscles.

Headache: Drinking two glasses of Gatorade can relieve headache pain almost immediately -- without the unpleasant side effects caused by traditional "pain relievers."

Headache: Take a lime, cut it in half, and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.

Itchy Skin/Possible UTI/Possible Yeast Infection: While a doctor for these may be best, relief can be found by; 1 cup of baking soda in the bath water. Soak and enjoy. Give yourself a real treat, dim the lights or light some candles. Relax

Mosquito Bites: To get rid of itch from mosquito bites, try applying soap on the area and you will experience instant relief. Also, you can place a dryer sheet in your pocket ... It will keep the mosquitoes away.

Possible UTI: Drink, drink, drink, that cranberry juice.

Possible UTI: Cure urinary tract infections with Alka-Seltzer. Just dissolve two tablets in a glass of water and drink it at the onset of the symptoms. Alka-Seltzer begins eliminating urinary tract infections almost instantly -- even though the product was never been advertised for this use. (Note: Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold Medicine is not the same ... and contains aspirin, which can cause stomach bleeding if you have ulcers.)

Sinus Problems: "Tent" yourself with a towel over some boiling water. Another remedy is holding a wash cloth in hot water, wring it out and lay it over the sinus and eye area, repeat as needed.

Skin Blemishes: Cover the blemish with a dab of honey and place a Band-Aid over it. Honey kills the bacteria, keeps the skin sterile, and speeds healing. Works overnight.

Slivers In Skin: Put some soap and sugar on a band-aid, place over the sliver. It will draw it out.

Sore Muscles: Purchase some Epsom's Salt (this can be bought at most stores for only a couple of dollars). Add 2 cups to a hot bath and relax. (don't forget the candles)

Sore Neck: I have this problem too. Take an old sock, one without holes in it. Fill the bag with regular uncooked rice. Either sew it shut or firmly tie it. When you need some relief simply place in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. Then place on your neck until it cools.

Sore Throat: Just mix ¼ cup of vinegar with ¼ cup of honey and take 1 tablespoon six times a day. The vinegar kills the bacteria.

Splinter Remover: Just pour a drop of Elmer's Glue-All over the splinter, let dry, and peel the dried glue off the skin. The splinter sticks to the dried glue ... Or, reach for the scotch tape before resorting to tweezers or a needle. Simply put the scotch tape over the splinter, and then pull it off. Scotch tape removes most splinters painlessly and easily.

Stuffy Nose: Before you head to the drugstore for a high-priced inhaler filled with mysterious chemicals, try chewing on a couple of curiously strong Altoids peppermints. They'll clear up your stuffed nose.

Toenail Fungus: Get rid of unsightly toenail fungus by soaking your toes in Listerine mouthwash. The powerful antiseptic leaves your toenails looking healthy again.

Toenail Fungus: Saturate a cotton swab with hydrogen peroxide and rub over toenail before going to bed. Allow the peroxide to get all around the cuticle. It will take about two months, but any new growth, (from the base of the nail, of course) will be healthy and attached to the nail bed.

Household Hints

Easy eyeglass protection ... To prevent the screws in eyeglasses from loosening, apply a small drop of nail polish to the threads of the screws before tightening them.

Coca-Cola cure for rust ... Forget those expensive rust removers. Just saturate an abrasive sponge with Coca Cola and scrub the rust stain. The phosphoric acid in the coke is what gets the job done.

Cleaning liquid that doubles as bug killer ... If menacing bees, wasps, hornets, or yellow jackets get in your home and you can't find the insecticide, try a spray of Formula 409. Insects drop to the ground instantly.

Kills fleas instantly ... Dawn dish washing liquid does the trick. Add a few drops to your dog's bath and shampoo the animal thoroughly. Rinse well to avoid skin irritations. Goodbye fleas.

Rainy day cure for dog odor ... Next time your dog comes in from the rain, simply wipe down the animal with Bounce or any dryer sheet, instantly making your dog smell springtime fresh.

Eliminate ear mites ... All it takes is a few drops of Wesson corn oil in your cat's ear. Massage it in, then clean with a cotton ball. Repeat daily for 3 days. The oil soothes the cat's skin, smothers the mites, and accelerates healing.

A sealed envelope ... Put in the freezer for a few hours, then slide a knife under the flap. The envelope can then be resealed.

Use Empty toilet paper roll ... To store appliance cords. It keeps them neat and you can write on the roll what appliance it belongs to.

For icy door steps in freezing temperatures ... Get warm water and put Dawn dishwashing liquid in it. Pour it all over the steps. They won't refreeze. (wish I had known this for the last 40 years!)

To remove old wax from a glass candleholder ... Put it in the freezer for a few hours. Then take the candleholder out and turn it upside down. The wax will fall out.

Crayon marks on walls? ... This worked wonderfully! A damp rag, dipped in baking soda. Comes off with little effort (elbow grease that is!).

Permanent marker on appliances/counter tops ... Like store receipt blue! rubbing alcohol on paper towel.

Whenever I purchase a box of S.O.S. Pads ... I immediately take a pair of scissors and cut each pad into halves. After years of having to throw away rusted and unused and smelly pads, I finally decided that this would be much more economical. Now a box of S.O.S. pads last me indefinitely! In fact, I have noticed that the scissors get sharpened this way!

Blood stains on clothes? ... Not to worry! Just pour a little hydrogen peroxide on a cloth and proceed to wipe off every drop of blood. Works every time! Now, where to put the body? LOL

Windows! ...Use vertical strokes when washing windows outside and horizontal for inside windows. This way you can tell which side has the streaks. Straight vinegar will get outside windows really clean. Don't wash windows on a sunny day. They will dry too quickly and will probably streak.

Cheap Aromatherapy! ... Spray a bit of perfume on the light bulb in any room to create a lovely light scent in each room when the light is turned on.

Sachet ... Place fabric softener sheets in dresser drawers and your clothes will smell freshly washed for weeks to come. You can also do this with towels and linen.

Candles will last a lot longer ... If placed in the freezer for at least 3 hours prior to! burning.

To clean artificial flowers ... Pour some salt into a paper bag and add the flowers. Shake vigorously as the salt will absorb all the dust and dirt and leave your artificial flowers looking like new! Works like a charm!

To easily remove burnt on food from your skillet ... Simply add a drop or two of dish soap and enough water to cover bottom of pan, and bring to a boil on stove top.

No stains ... Spray your Tupperware with nonstick cooking spray before pouring in tomato based sauces and there won't be any stains.

Wrap celery in aluminum foil ... When putting in the refrigerator and it will! keep for weeks.

When boiling corn on the cob ... Add a pinch of sugar to help bring out the corn's natural sweetness.

Don't throw out all that leftover wine: ... Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces. Left over wine? What's that? If you have it, leftover merlot is awesome in spaghetti sauce :)

Ants, ants, ants everywhere ... Well, they are said to never cross a chalk line. So, get your chalk out and draw a line on the floor or wherever ants tend to march. See for yourself.

Get Rid of Ants ... Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it home, & can't digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, esp. if it rains, but it works & you don't have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!

Use air-freshener to clean mirrors ... It does a good job and better still, leaves a lovely smell to the shine.

Now look what you can do with Alka Seltzer: ...
* Clean a toilet. Drop in two Alka Seltzer tablets, wait twenty minutes, brush and flush. The citric acid and effervescent action clean vitreous China.
* Clean a vase. To remove a stain from the bottom of a glass vase or cruet, fill with water and drop in two Alka Seltzer tablets.
* Polish jewelry. Drop two Alka Seltzer tablets into a glass of water and immerse the jewelry for two minutes.
* Clean a thermos bottle. Fill the bottle with water, drop in four Alka Seltzer tablets, and let soak for an hour (or longer, if necessary).
* Unclog a drain. Clear the sink drain by dropping three Alka Seltzer tablets down the drain followed by a cup of Heinz White Vinegar. Wait a few minutes, and then run the hot water.

Reheat Pizza ... Heat up leftover pizza in a non-stick skillet on top of the stove, set heat to med-low and heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No soggy micro pizza. I saw this on the cooking channel and it really works.

Easy Deviled Eggs ... Put cooked egg yolks in a zip lock bag. Seal, mash till they are all broken up. Add remainder of ingredients, reseal, keep mashing it up mixing thoroughly, cut the tip of the baggy, squeeze mixture into egg. Just throw bag away when done easy clean up.

Expanding Frosting ... When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for a few minutes. You can double it in size. You get to frost more cake or cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less sugar/calories per serving.

Reheating refrigerated bread ... To warm biscuits, pancakes, or muffins that were refrigerated, place them in a microwave with a cup of water. The increased moisture will keep the food moist and help it reheat faster.

Newspaper weeds away ... Start putting in your plants, work the nutrients in your soil. Wet newspapers put layers around the plants overlapping as you go cover with mulch and forget about weeds. Weeds will get through some gardening plastic they will not get through wet newspapers.

Broken Glass ... Use a dry cotton ball to pick up little broken glass pieces of glass- the fibers catch ones you can't see!

Squirrel Away! ... To keep squirrels from eating your plants sprinkle your plants with cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper doesn't hurt the plant and the squirrels won't come near it.

Mine!!!!! ... If you purchase a new bike for your child, place their picture inside the handle bar before placing the grips on. if the bike is stolen and later recovered, remove the grip and there is your proof who owns the bike.

Flexible vacuum ... To get something out of a heat register or under the fridge add an empty paper towel roll or empty gift wrap roll to your vacuum. It can be bent or flattened to get in narrow openings.

Reducing Static Cling ... Pin a small safety pin to the seam of your slip and you will not have a clingy skirt or dress. Same thing works with slacks that cling when wearing panty hose. Place pin in seam of slacks and - voila - static is gone.

Measuring Cups ... Before you pour sticky substances into a measuring cup, fill it with hot water. Dump out the hot water, but don't dry the cup. Next, add your ingredient, such as peanut butter, and watch how easily it comes right out.

Foggy Windshield? ... Hate foggy windshields? Buy a chalkboard eraser and keep it in the glove box of your car. When the windows fog, rub with the eraser! Works better than a cloth!

Conditioner ... Use your hair conditioner to shave your legs. It's a lot cheaper than shaving cream and leaves your legs really smooth. It's also a great way to use up the conditioner you bought but didn't like when you tried it in your hair.

Goodbye Fruit Flies ... To get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass fill it ½ inch with Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dish washing liquid, mix well. You will find those flies drawn to the cup and gone forever!

Jesus made this statement:

Luke 5:31

They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.

This Scripture clearly suggests that even though Jesus was using an analogy of a human physician to reveal that He is the healer of the soul ... Jesus acknowledged that there were human physicians needed for the body at times when our body is sick. God works thru the hands of many physicians. Just as God's Spirit will work thru this program to heal your soul.
