How to Get Salvation Bible Verses

Christian Salvation Bible Study Quest

What is the Biblical Salvation meaning? How do we obtain and maintain this Salvation Bible promise? Can this Christian Salvation be lost? Does being a Christian guarantee one Eternal Life? Or, is Salvation attained only if Faith is maintained? This brings us to the question of ... Once saved always saved? What a delightful concept! But, is it Truth? Is eternal Salvation assurance guaranteed?

I have heard from many fellow Christians that I have encountered over the years that they believe in a "Once saved always saved" theory. The words "Once Saved Always Saved" sparked some curiosity within me because many Christians believe that this saying or variations of this phrase, comes from the Bible.

Being one that is very eager to share the Truth of God's Grace ... I was eager and almost excited to research this concept in God's Word, the Bible. So, I typed the words "Once Saved Always Saved" and other variations of these words into my electronic Bible and these were the results that continually appeared on the screen:

No matches

Having been a Bible researcher for years, I knew that many times a word or phrase that is commonly used today, may not have been used in Biblical times such as the word Rapture which was a word that Christians have created to describe an event that will occur in the Bible, but the actual word Rapture is not in the Bible (KJV) anywhere even though it is an event recorded in the Bible.

Well maybe some of the new wave Bible translations have added it. These translations are being created at will in a valiant effort to modernize the language in the Bible to reach more souls, which is kind of cool.

The problem is that many of these translated Bibles lose Truth in translation. There is a new Bible translation all the time now which is a good reason to stick with the KJV as I have compared the KJV to the actual original Hebrew text and it is a very good translation. Not judging anyone or anything like that, just a little friendly advice.

Back to our Christian Salvation Bible study ... My failed search for the words "Once saved Always saved" or any variations of that phrase saddened me a little because I would love to have found it to be Truth as to share the great tidings with all that I encounter. But, I could not do so. At least not yet. So I continued my Biblical Salvation Bible search. Then, I remembered the words of the Apostle Paul;

"Prove all things;"

1 Thessalonians 5:21

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

So, let's open up the Word of God and find out the Truth, shall we? Let's start from the beginning. What does it mean to be "Saved" anyway? It means to be delivered from the sins of your past by believing in Jesus. That He was sent here by God, died for our sins, was resurrected and is going to return for His bride ... The Christians. A lot of people use the word "saved" interchangeably with words such as born again or reborn as it is written;

Through the Blood of Jesus ... Grace is bestowed upon us if we repent of our sins. We should never assume that we don't need to bother to ask for forgiveness of God, because we figure God owes it to us because "once saved always saved" that we are just automatically forgiven ... After pondering on this a bit, this "Once saved always saved" theory started to trouble me. A Scripture came to mind and heart that I want to share in this Christian Salvation Bible study:

The Unforgivable Sin of Blasphemy of the Holy Ghost

Mark 3:28-30 *** Matthew 12:31

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

I asked myself this question ... Why would Jesus warn us that we, as Christians could blaspheme the Holy Spirit if it is Truth that "Once saved always saved?" Then, more Salvation Bible verses came to my mind and heart.

Impossible

Hebrews 6:4-6

4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the Heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good Word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame.

Beware

2 Peter 3:17

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.

Overcome by the World

2 Peter 2:20-22

20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Depart From the Faith

1 Timothy 4:1

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils ...

Falling Away

Luke 8:5-6,13

5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

Many Called, Few Chosen

Matthew 22:14 *** Matthew 20:16

16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Deception of the Elect if Possible

Mark 13:22 *** Matthew 24:24

24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

I Never Knew You

Mark 3:28-29 *** Luke 12:10 *** Matthew 7:21-23

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in Heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

I Know You Not

Matthew 25:1-13

1 Then shall the Kingdom of Heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Biblical Salvation - Christian Salvation Bible Study Warning
How to Get Salvation Bible Verses Concerns

Wow ... "Once Saved, Always Saved ???"

There are some major holes in this theory. I mean check out what Christians have been told by Prophets, Apostles, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus ...

Beware ...

For it is impossible to return if the elect are deceived and are overcome and fall away and depart from the faith, for Jesus will say I knew you not, and I know you not, for many are called but few are chosen.

Here is Truth ...

I have a Christian Salvation Bible study trivia question ... Why do people say once saved always saved? I want to begin by saying that these Christian souls that are spreading the once saved always saved theory are not evil or anything like that. But, it does appear that they are looking only at specific Salvation Bible verses that give the promise of Salvation but, have failed to allow all Christian Salvation Bible verses to bring harmony and Truth to the matter. Many of these individuals use this Salvation Scripture as a foundation;

2 Thessalonians 2:13

But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to Salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the Truth.

This is Truth ... But, to interpret this as saying that God chose someone and is bound by His choice to Love and offer Grace despite what choices the soul makes afterward, limits God and God has no limitations. God did choose souls from the beginning for Salvation. Problem is something that Jesus said:

Matthew 20:16

So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Many that are spreading the "once saved always saved" theory, use the Scriptures that reveal that the names of those who are to be saved are already written in the Book of Life. So, they believe once saved, the Christian's name is written and you are always saved.

Here is wisdom ... Jesus shares the Truth:

Revelation 3:5

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the Book of Life, but I will confess His name before my Father, and before His Angels.

How to Get Salvation Bible Verses Proof

We find the Truth within the words of Jesus ... Yet again. A person can in fact be blotted out of the Book of Life and lose their Salvation.

The Book of Revelation is God's message that He gave to Jesus, then Jesus sent it by His Angel to John.

Revelation 1:1

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto Him, to shew unto His servants things which must shortly come to pass; and He sent and signified it by His Angel unto His servant John:

It was about 90 A.D. at the time of the Revelation. Christianity was very young, and there were seven 'Churches' in Asia. The term 'Churches' refers to groups of Christians who belonged to these Churches.

To each of the seven Churches, Jesus sent messages of warning. If we take the theory that these Christians were once saved and therefore had guaranteed eternal Salvation ... Why would Jesus warn these Christians of potential loss of Salvation, if these Christians had irrevocable Salvation?

Keep in mind that the Church is Jesus' bride and from these seven Churches, Christianity was spread throughout the world, which now includes you and I so these messages of warning apply to our lives as well. We can see through these messages that Jesus has grievances with particular behaviors and habits of Christians.

Let's take a look at these warnings from Jesus:

Revelation 2:1-7

1 Unto the Angel of the Church of Ephesus write; These things saith He that holdeth the seven stars in His right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are Apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy First Love.
5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.
7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the Tree of Life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.

Biblical Salvation - Christian Salvation Bible Study Danger
How to Get Salvation Bible Verses Fears

These Christians are being warned by Jesus that they have lost their first love ... Their passion for the Christian walk and encourages them to find what hinders the passion and to repent and return to the early days of their Faith where they were so very passionate and the fruits that they had revealed this passion.

He says only those who overcome will be given the Promise.

Does this warning apply to you in your Christian walk?

Revelation 2:8-11

8 And unto the Angel of the Church in Smyrna write; These things saith the First and the Last, which was dead, and is alive;
9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

These Christians are being warned by Jesus that many trials await them, but encourages them to remain faithful, even unto death and to not surrender their Faith during these trials.

He says only those who overcome will not be hurt in second death.

Does this warning apply to you in your Christian walk?

Revelation 2:12-17

12 And to the Angel of the Church in Pergamos write; These things saith He which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.
16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

These Christians are being warned by Jesus that they have some bad habits and/or false doctrines other than the pure Truth within God's Word in their lives.

He says only those who overcome will be given the Promise. Does this warning apply to you in your Christian walk?

Revelation 2:18-29

18 And unto the Angel of the Church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath His eyes like unto a flame of fire, and His feet are like fine brass;
19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the Churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
28 And I will give him the morning star.
29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches.

These Christians are being warned by Jesus to beware being seduced by sexual perversion and unrighteous habits. He says only those who overcome and keep His works unto the end will be given the Promise. Does this warning apply to you in your Christian walk?

Revelation 3:1-6

1 And unto the Angel of the Church in Sardis write; These things saith He that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the Book of Life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before His Angels.
6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches.

These Christians are being warned by Jesus about losing the Spiritual aspect of the Faith. Their works are dead works, more Religious than Spiritual. Again ... He says only those who overcome will be given the Promises. Does this warning apply to you in your Christian walk?

Revelation 3:7-13

7 And to the Angel of the Church in Philadelphia write; These things saith He that is holy, He that is true, He that hath the key of David, He that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is New Jerusalem, which cometh down out of Heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches.

These Christians have been found worthy by Jesus because even though they have little strength they passionately believe and refuse to surrender the Faith. Strive to be a Philadelphia type of Christian, because the promises within ... Are awesome. These will be those that are taken in the Rapture as it is written ... "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, [Great Tribulation] which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth."

Yet again, He says only those who overcome will be given the Promises. Does this blessing apply to you in your Christian walk?

Revelation 3:14-22

14 And unto the Angel of the Church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the Creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I Love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in His throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches.

Christian Salvation Bible Study Tears
How to Get Salvation Bible Verses Debate

These Christians are being warned by Jesus about being lukewarm ... These are the souls that try and be both worldly and Christian. They earnestly seek riches and the worldly lifestyle that they see on television and yet give God but a few minutes here and there when they find the need. All the while claiming to be Christian because they go to Church once a week for an hour and donate a little something to the collection plate. In short, they give God an hour a week and their heart is focused on the world.

And yet again ... He says only those who overcome will be given the Promises. Does this warning apply to you in your Christian walk? As you can clearly see, in each message to each Church, Jesus says that only if the person overcomes these things, will they be saved.

Revelation 3:22

He that hath an ear, let him hear [understand] what the Spirit saith unto the Churches.

Once a person is saved they must overcome and not be overcome and fall away. As you prepare to complete this Christian Salvation Bible study, ponder on the words of Jesus:

Matthew 7:21-23

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in Heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Jesus continues though:

Matthew 7:24-27

24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Sounds like the Salvation Bible verses reveal that we have the choice.

What choice will you make?

We must choose to work out our own Salvation:

Philippians 2:12

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own Salvation with fear and trembling.

It is the end of our Faith that matters.

1 Peter 1:9

Receiving the end of your Faith, even the Salvation of your souls.

We patiently hope as we await our Salvation.

Lamentations 3:26

It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the Salvation of the Lord.
