Biblical Interpretations and Unique Perspectives

Bible Scripture Interpretation

Where did you learn about God, that which is in the Bible and that which pertains to the Christian walk? In other words, where did your Faith begin? What was the original source? Was it family, friends, Church or one day you just picked a Bible and said whoaaaaaaaaa check this out and that is how it began.

Biblical Interpretations and Unique Perspectives Quest
Bible Scripture Interpretation Adventure

Once in a while I will hear or read of someone who says (for whatever reason or gain) that one should never attempt to learn the Word of God from a man or woman or any documentation written by anyone, but that one should learn from reading the Bible only and not even partake of anyone else's conversation or works on matters of Christianity.

Wow ... That brings forth this Biblical Interpretation question to mind and heart. Have you ever learned anything that you found to be Biblical Truth from any other source, other than the Bible? You know, a book, movie or a fellow Christian ...

Another question ... How many times in your Christian walk have you assumed that you understood a Scripture that you had read and then later, because of what someone shared by word or book or whatever, you looked back at the Bible to confirm what you read or heard and found out your interpretation was incorrect?

The Biblical Interpretation question seems to be ... Can fellow Christians sharing Scripture be another source of learning God's Word if we confirm with the Bible? Can we learn from other Christians if we allow Scripture to confirm another sources Bible Scripture interpretation? Did not men inspired by God write the Books of the Bible and do we not learn from them?

2 Peter 1:20-21

20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Do you believe that the Bible was written by men inspired by God for us even today?

Deuteronomy 29:29

The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Biblical Interpretations and Unique Perspectives Path
Bible Scripture Interpretation Concerns

And is Scripture not to be used to reach and teach other Christians who may be babes in Christ?

2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

I mean do you believe these Spirit inspired men of God knew Christians would be reading what they wrote in the Bible and sharing it with unique Perspectives?

Romans 15:4

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

A no brainer huh? Of course the Bible is written for us by men who were inspired by God and tho many books and epistles were written to a specific audience, group or Church they must have hoped, if not known, that it would be shared and be spread about the lands.

But, are men and women of today supposed to be sharing God's Word by way of studies and books and/or by Word of mouth, pen or keyboard in fellowship? Or, when asked of the Scriptures, should they just point to a Bible and say ... Read it yourself?

Here is a Biblical Interpretation trivia question for you ... What if the person is unable to discern the Scriptures, as many have not been and are not able to? What if they lack Bible Scripture interpretation skills?

Biblical Interpretations and Unique Perspectives Warning
Bible Scripture Interpretation Blessings

You know ... People that we read of in the Bible like these ...

2 Peter 3:16

As also in all his [Paul's] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Peter is saying that some folks wrestled with understanding Paul's words, just as they do the Scriptures ... Unto their own destruction.

Because they have not the Bible Scripture interpretation gift.

Now some may say ...

Well those are some unlearned or slow minded rascals. Most Christians should be able to easily discern the Bible just by reading it. Nobody needs an interpreter or some study, book or word of mouth ... Just read the Bible more.

Uh huh ... What about the Sadducees ... The Sadducees ('wanna be' Religious leaders of the time) trying to trick Jesus, asked Him a question and Jesus responded ...

Matthew 22:29

Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.

So, the Religious Leaders, who read the Scriptures often, did not understand the written Word of God from the Old Testament. They were blinded as many are.

2 Corinthians 3:14-15

14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.

Biblical Interpretations and Unique Perspectives Vary
Bible Scripture Interpretation Today

Ohhhhhhh, But wait ...

Maybe only men and women who follow Jesus will automatically understand the Word of God by reading it alone, huh?

Uhhhhhhh ... You mean like the Apostles of Jesus?

John 20:9

For as yet they knew not the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.

Not only did Scriptures they read often (which they did not interpret correctly) reveal what would happen to Jesus (as we now know) But, Jesus told these fellas many times that He would rise from the Dead and they just could not comprehend the Word of God.

Why? ... Perhaps this is the reason ...

Deuteronomy 29:29

The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Perhaps they were blinded for a time as we read of earlier of the Jewish leaders.

2 Corinthians 3:14-15

14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

Biblical Interpretations and Unique Perspectives Issue
Bible Scripture Interpretation Problem

But, why? It could be that if they had understood the various prophecies ... They would have made different choices which would have affected prophecy as they too were to be used as tools to bring forth Prophecy.

The best Bible Scripture Interpretation example of this would be Judas Iscariot. Many would say if he had interpreted the scriptures correctly, he would not have accepted the 30 pieces of silver since the Scriptures which he probably read often, possessed this prophecy within:

Zechariah 11:12-13

12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
13 And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.

But ... To those with the Bible Scripture interpretation gift ... We know ... It was prophecy that Jesus would be traded up for thirty pieces of silver. So, He made a choice, which was to soon fulfill God's Prophecy ...

Matthew 26:14-16

Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver Him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.

Though Judas figured it out a bit later:

Matthew 27:3

Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

And Prophecy, was fulfilled:

Matthew 27:9

Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

Biblical Interpretations and Unique Perspectives Differ
Bible Scripture Interpretation Teaching

Now, to avoid con-fusion and to understand the depths of Scriptures one needs the Bible Scripture interpretation gift ... I wanna look at two Scriptures shared in this study, together ...

2 Peter 1:20-21

20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Deuteronomy 29:29

The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

In the above two scriptures, one says "No prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation" and the other one says "Secret things belong to the Lord, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever."

Is this a Bible Scripture Interpretation contradiction? No ... Prophecy was shared for various people at various events because the events of said Prophecies were at various time periods. Some Prophecy was created for children of later generations to understand as to establish faith through Prophecy.

Like us today ... We are quite privileged having the fulfilled prophecy available to us giving us Bible Scripture interpretation understanding. So, that we could read of (or learn from others who have been on the Christian walk longer) these prophecies after they came to pass, we say ahhhhhhh. I get it !!!

For our God ... Uses Prophecy to confirm He is real.

Isaiah 46:9-10

9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

And He reveals what shall come to pass through His Prophets:

Amos 3:7

Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the Prophets.

Biblical Interpretations and Unique Perspectives Woe
Bible Scripture Interpretation is Easy

It is up to us to interpret the Prophecy if it is our time to know it. But not for those who cannot interpret it from Scriptures ...

Unique Perspectives Skill
Bible Scripture Interpretation Gift

Why do you believe there are so many differing interpretations of God's Word?

In most cases it is not due to prejudice or pride, but rather many simply misunderstand it or do not get it.

That is why God called men and women of God to share the Gospel of Truth and His Word and to reason with them what the true Interpretation of the Scriptures are:

Acts 17:2

And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the Scriptures,

Just as an older brother or sister in a family teaches their younger sibling things ... Those who are older in the Faith have the same responsibility and privilege. And of course we are all to confirm with Scripture everything we hear or read.

Acts 17:11

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

We truly need Bible Scripture Interpretation to confirm and we should choose to read the Word of God often to establish hope ...

Romans 15:4

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

In patience we learn of the Scriptures and in doing so, it brings comfort.

Biblical Interpretations and Unique Perspectives Galore
Bible Scripture Interpretation - No Set Ideas

So, we must choose to read the Bible often to grow in the Scriptures. Let us look at those two 3:16 passages again in context ...

  • 2 Timothy 3:16 and
  • 2 Peter 3:16

This should make them easy for you to remember because of John 3:16:

2 Timothy 3:14-16

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Peter 3:16-18

16 As also in all his [Paul's] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18 But grow in Grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

This Bible Scripture Interpretation trek for Truth has revealed that God still uses vessels to share prophecy, warnings and His Love to and for others. I do not mean just messages from the Bible, but something which God has to say that day or even today.

God can and still does inspire many Christians who have written many of the millions of Christian books out there. Just read and hear some of the books and studies out there and you will know it is of God. It is a message from God to us ...

Here is wisdom: The Bible is the Word of God and you should study the Bible and any and all righteous Christian studies and books you can get your hands on often ...

However, we have learned in this Biblical Interpretation study that the Bible is not the last Word of God that will be spoken to His children. He is not limited to sharing His messages in one book. He is not to be silenced for thousands of years after that book was written. He has lots more to say and does through those who serve Him in many ways from artwork to writings to communing with one another. Never allow anyone to keep you from answering your calling with fear or doubt.

Not even you.
