Christians and Tattoos Bible Verses Explained on Can Christians Get Tattoos and Piercings in the Bible
Now you may have been told this before ... The Old Testament
(Old Covenant) is quite clear that the Israelites were not to ever have
any type of marks placed on their flesh.
God said:
Leviticus 19:28
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor
print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.
However the question is ... Can Christians Get Tattoos and Piercings now or is it a sin? Are Christians with tattoos and piercings going to hell according to the Bible?
If so, does this even include our Christian grandmothers who have
or had ear piercings? How about our Granddad who was a sailor and got
tattoos as a young man? Or is there some elite Christian group that
gets to determine who does and does not go to hell depending on
location of piercings and tattoos? What of those who received tattoos
and piercings before they became Christians? Most are very eager to
condemn Christians with tattoos and piercings, but are they right to
do so and better yet, do they have the right to judge others who have
tattoos and piercings according to the Bible?
The New Testament (New
Covenant) reveals that only certain rules were to be placed on
newly converted Gentiles (those people that were other than Jewish)
and the Holy Spirit confirmed it.
Acts 15:28-29
28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us,
to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from
blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if
ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
Those rules did not mention anything about piercings and tattoos did they? Let us be real from childhood young girls have been taught to wear ear rings. This is a piercing ... Will all women that have pierced ears go to hell? Will all the little girls that were just doing what Mommy taught them live in eternal fire because they did what Mommy did? Is grandma going to hell because of ear rings? Is this the loving Lord that we serve? I think not.
What about markings on the body ... Will every man and woman who
served this country and got a tattoo to reveal that they were willing
to die for the men, women and children of this country, be seen by God
as evil and worthy of eternal death? Nobody really believes that, do they?
Can Christians Get Tattoos and Piercings or not?
I sure hope the little kids that get that little toy tattoo out of cereal boxes are not subject to this ideology as well. Come on now, how ridiculous will these holier than tho wanna be judges get? They love to use Christians and tattoos Bible verses to condemn others. But, ironically ... That is where they are wrong. I will explain in a bit.
First, let us take a quick can Christians get tattoos and piercings detour ... I am not saying anyone should run out and get piercings or
tattoos. I am not sharing this because I have any piercings or tattoos
as I do not. I am saying that there is but One judge and He judges the
heart of every matter.
So, it seems that such things are between God and the person and I
suppose everyone else can judge you by using this Scripture or that
Scripture if they like, but the bottom line is the flesh is going to
return to the dust when we pass from this realm to the next. So the
piercing holes and tattoos will not be going with ya.
Genesis 3:19
In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto
the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and
unto dust shalt thou return.
Ecclesiastes 12:7
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit
shall return unto God who gave it.
Christians and Tattoos Bible Verses Warning
It is what is in your heart that will be judged by God and by God only. Always remember that what people think of you, does not define you.
Your words and deeds do.
For those who are itching to quote law, check it out ... One of the
top 10 commandments was, Thou shalt not kill. Yet, God punished king
Saul because he did not kill a man and a Prophet of God ended up
killing the fella for God.
1 Samuel 15:16-28
16 Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell
thee what the Lord hath said to me this night. And he said unto
him, Say on.
17 And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own
sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the
Lord anointed thee king over Israel?
18 And the Lord sent thee on a journey, and said, Go
and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against
them until they be consumed.
19 Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the
Lord, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight
of the Lord?
20 And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice
of the Lord, and have gone the way which the Lord sent me, and have
brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the
Amalekites.
21 But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the
chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to
sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in Gilgal.
22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in
burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than
the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and
stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast
rejected the Word of the Lord, He hath also rejected thee from being
king.
24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have
transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I
feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
25 Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn
again with me, that I may worship the Lord.
26 And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with
thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath
rejected thee from being king over Israel.
27 And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold
upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.
28 And Samuel said unto him, The Lord hath rent the
kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a
neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.
Christians and Tattoos Bible Verses Danger
Is that not contrary to man's interpretation of the law?
Again ... The Old Covenant law said ... An eye for an eye.
Leviticus 24:19-20
19 And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he
hath done, so shall it be done to him;
20 Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he
hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.
However ... Jesus defined the law.
Matthew 5:38-39
38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an
eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but
whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other
also.
Jesus did not change the law but rather gave us the Spiritual meaning.
Vengeance belongs to the Lord. Laws were made for the lawless:
1 Timothy 1:8-9
8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it
lawfully;
9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous
man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for
sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and
murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
Christians and Tattoos Bible Verses vs New Covenant
This does not say that law has been abolished but rather that in the New Covenant, God will place the laws in our hearts.
Hebrews 10:15-17
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for
after that He had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after
those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts,
and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no
more.
Make no mistake, this is not a free pass to sin. God forbid, but rather freedom from wanna be judges as you begin to grow in
Christ and over time He places the laws within you.
As you get tighter with Jesus by way of the Holy Spirit, you will
begin to see things in a diff light than before and you find the
desire to become virtuous for Him. It will be then that you will begin
to make choices that will be based on Love ... Not fear, defiance or
con-forming to someone's judgments.
It may be at that time that you make the choice not to have piercings
or tattoos if that is what you believe the Lord wants. God is Love.
Christians and Tattoos Bible Verses Grace
Never forget that God's Grace
reveals that if you truly believe in Jesus and the Truth that He was
willing to die for you, and did, that you would know that He loves
you so much that you will want to do what He wants you to do because
you would know that He is looking out for your best interests.
You will try hard not to do things that would make him ashamed or
disappointed in you. You may fall, but always remember that only a
worm is free from the worry of stumble and the real test is to see if
you will get up, dust yourself off, carry on and never surrender.
Saints ... Are just the sinners that fall down and get up !!!
As time passes, you will find that you begin to make the right choices, out of Love, not fear of punishment. Always remember that God sacrificed His Son to get us into Heaven. It is the enemy of our souls using man, that tries to use law to keep souls out. God is your only judge.
In conclusion ... Our Christians and tattoos Bible verses trek for Truth has clearly revealed that Grace overrides the holier than thou religious folks who like to try and condemn others. Can Christians get tattoos and piercings according the Bible? Only God can judge such a matter and He sacrificed His Son to get us into Heaven. I think ole Grandma is safeH
