Here's a story I'd like to tell
About the day a giant fell
So listen close and you will hear
How David killed him with no fear
When David was a little boy
He sang to God with love and joy
And when he got a little tall
The king of Israel was Saul
The Army Saul led out to fight
Stood up for God and all that's right
The army that they fought was mean
With the biggest giant they'd ever seen
Goliath was the giant's name
He started up a little game
"I dare you, send a man to me
Who is the strongest, we will see"
Now David was the only one
Who didn't want to turn and run
He knew that God was on his side
There was no need to run and hide
He chose five stones out of the brook
The giant gave a funny look
He laughed at David coming near
Without a shield or sword or spear
Then David said, "With God, I'll win
I'll take your head when I begin
And when I'm done, you giant clod
The earth will know there is a God"
So David took and slung a stone
You should have heard that giant groan
It sank into Goliath's head
And on his face he fell down dead
Goliath's friends all ran away
It was a very happy day
For David and for Israel
And God, the day the giant fell
So trust in God with all your might
And always do the thing that's right
Don't let a problem grow and grow
Into a giant, just say NO
