AFTER THE
END TIMES ARE OVER AND THE 1000 YEAR TIME PERIOD KNOWN AS
MILLENNIUM
HAS PASSED
... IT IS TIME FOR THE GREAT WHITE THRONE
JUDGMENT. THE TIME TO ETERNALLY PUNISH THE ONES WHO CHOSE NOT TO BELIEVE
IN JESUS AND TO REWARD THOSE WHO KNEW THE TRUTH AND FOLLOWED IT ... ARE
YOU PREPARED FOR THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT?
Most everyone has heard
the term 'Judgment Day' before. Most of us picture in our minds, standing
before God with a big white wall that displays every sin we ever committed
in our lives.
Well, nobody knows if
that's exactly what it will be like or not, but let's see what the Bible
says about what we can expect on Judgment Day.
|
1 Samuel 2:10
The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of
Heaven shall He thunder upon them:
the LORD shall judge the ends of
the earth; and He shall give
strength unto His king, and exalt the horn of His anointed. |
|
Psalms 1:5-6
Therefore the ungodly shall
not stand in the judgment, nor
sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth
the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. |
Jesus spoke these
unforgettable words:
Paul talks about this too
... that we all sin, so to judge another, is just like convicting
ourselves.
|
Romans 2:1-11
Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man,
whosoever thou
art that judgest:
for wherein thou judgest another,
thou
condemnest thyself;
for thou that judgest doest the same things. But we are sure that
the judgment of God is according to TRUTH against them which commit
such things.
And thinkest
thou this, O man,
that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same,
that thou
shalt escape the judgment of God?
Or despisest thou the riches of His goodness and forbearance and
longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to
repentance? But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest
up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the
righteous judgment of
God;
Who
will render to every man according to his deeds:
To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and
honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are
contentious, and do not obey the TRUTH, but obey unrighteousness,
indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of
man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But
glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew
first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons
with God. |
Jesus said:
|
Matthew 12:36-37
But I say unto you, That every
idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in
the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and
by thy words thou shalt be condemned. |
The Bible also gives us
some words of admonishment from the Apostle Peter about Judgment Day:
|
2 Peter 2:9-22
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to
reserve the unjust unto the
day of judgment
to be
punished: But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of
uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. Whereas
angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing
accusation against them before the Lord. But these, as natural brute
beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things
that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own
corruption; And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they
that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and
blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they
feast with you; Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease
from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised
with covetous practices; cursed children: Which have forsaken the
right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son
of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; But was rebuked
for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the
madness of the prophet. These are wells without water, clouds that
are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved
for ever. For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they
allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness,
those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While
they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of
corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought
in bondage. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the
world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,
they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is
worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them
not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have
known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But
it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is
turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her
wallowing in the mire. |
The Great White Throne
Judgment in the book of Revelation:
|
Revelation 20:11-15
And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose
face the earth and the Heaven fled away; and there was found no
place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before
God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which
is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things
which were written in the books, according to their works. And the
sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered
up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man
according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake
of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found
written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. |
Let's
take these five verses, one at a time and discuss each one as to get a
better idea of how things will happen, when Judgment Day arrives.

Revelation 20:11
And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose
face the earth and the Heaven fled away; and there was found no
place for them. |
It's a
little hard to imagine, but at the time of the Great White Throne
Judgment, the earth and the Heaven, the ones that God created alllllll the
way back in Genesis, flee away ... they are needed no longer. The Apostle
Peter also describes that just as the earth was destroyed by the Great
Flood, it awaits destruction by fire on Judgment Day:

2 Peter 3:7
But the Heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are
kept in store, reserved unto fire against the
day of judgment
and perdition of ungodly men. |
Then
God judges the people:

Revelation 20:12
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books
were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life:
and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in
the books, according to their works. |
A few
interesting things are revealed here. These souls standing before God …
the small and the great … are those who died as believers in Christ. How
do you know? Because the next verse explains that the souls in hell are
brought before God AFTER the small and great are judged. Another
interesting thing is that there is not only a book of life, which we
perceive as a list of the names of God’s chosen, but there are also other
books that we are judged out of. Take a look at these scriptures that
describe other books that we may be judged out of:

Psalms 56:8
Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are
they not in
thy book? |
|
Psalms 69:28
Let them be blotted out of
the
book of the living, and not be
written with the righteous. |
|
Psalms 139:16
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in
thy book
all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned,
when as yet there was none of them. |
|
Isaiah 34:16
Seek ye out of
the book of the
LORD, and read: no one of
these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath
commanded, and His spirit it hath gathered them. |
|
Malachi 3:16
Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the
LORD hearkened, and heard it, and
a book of remembrance
was written before Him for them that
feared the LORD, and that thought upon His name. |
|
Ezekiel 2:9-10
And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll
of a book
was therein; And he spread it before me; and it was written within
and without: and there was
written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe. |
|
Philippians 4:3
And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which
laboured with me in the Gospel, with Clement also, and with other my
fellowlabourers, whose names are in
the book of life. |
|
Daniel 12:1-4
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which
standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time
of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that
same time: and at that time
thy people
shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the
book.
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting
contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the
firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for
ever and ever. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the
book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and
knowledge shall be increased. |
|
Revelation 3:5
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and
I will not blot out his name out of
the book of life,
but I will confess his name before my Father, and before His angels. |
|
Revelation 13:8
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him (the beast),
whose names are not written in
the book of life of the Lamb
slain from the foundation of the world. |
|
Revelation 17:8
The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of
the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on
the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in
the book of life
from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that
was, and is not, and yet is. |
|
Revelation 21:27
And there shall in no wise enter into it (the New Jerusalem) any
thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or
maketh a lie: but they which are written in
the Lamb's book of life. |
Once
the believers are judged, then ...
|
Revelation 20:13
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell
delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every
man according to their works. |
Here's
an interesting thing to note: The sea gave up the dead which were in it.
That's something to ponder on, isn't it? Why would the dead in the sea be
different from the other souls? There are some mysteries that we probably
just won't know until Judgment Day. Okay, back to our study. So ... the
souls of the unbelievers in hell are brought before God to be judged next.

Revelation 20:14
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the
second death. |
The
first death is the death of the body or the flesh. The second death is at
the Great White Throne Judgment, for those who don't overcome. You may
have never thought that something that isn't in our physical realm could
be thrown into the lake of fire, but at the Great White Throne Judgment,
God tosses death and hell in there ... that is to say that there will be
no more death ... or hell after that, because those who have overcome will
have eternal life.

Revelation 20:15
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast
into the lake of fire. |
Anyone
who's name isn't in the book of life, goes to the lake of fire. Don't be
mistaken ... now, just because these are souls that are going there, just
like death and hell are not tangible things, neither is a soul ... but if
you're under the impression that once a soul goes to the lake of fire, it
is burned up and all the pain and agony ends ... you've got another guess
coming, because the Bible clearly states that:

Revelation 14:9-11
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any
man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his
forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the
wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of
his indignation; and he
shall be tormented
with
fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the
presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up
for
ever and ever: and
they have no rest day nor
night, who worship the
beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. |
AND
|
Revelation 20:10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and
brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and
shall be tormented day and night for
ever and ever. |
The
fallen angels who chose to leave Heaven ( Genesis
6:2) to come to earth, are kept in darkness and chains until Judgment
Day:

Jude 1:6
And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own
habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness
unto the
judgment of the great
day. |
Those who are
written in the book of life ... will live forever.
The Apostle John
tells us that if we live in the love of Christ and follow His way, we can
have confidence in the day of judgment:

1 John 4:17
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the
day of judgment:
because as He is, so are we in this world. |
The
prophet Daniel also wrote of his vision of the Great White Throne
Judgment:

Daniel 7:9-14
I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days
did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head
like the pure wool: His throne was like the fiery flame, and His
wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from
before Him: thousand thousands ministered unto Him, and ten thousand
times ten thousand stood before Him:
the judgment was set, and the books
were opened. I beheld then
because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I
beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and
given to the burning flame. As concerning the rest of the beasts,
they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged
for a season and time. I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one
like the Son of man came with the clouds of Heaven, and came to the
Ancient of days, and they brought Him near before Him. And there was
given Him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people,
nations, and languages, should serve Him: His dominion is an
everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom
that which shall not be destroyed. |
King
David also wrote prophecy about the Great White Throne Judgment.
|
Psalms 7:8-9
The LORD shall judge the
people: judge me, O LORD,
according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that
is in me. Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but
establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and
reins. |
|
Psalms 96:12-13
Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the
trees of the wood rejoice before the LORD: for He cometh, for
He cometh to judge the earth:
He shall judge the world with
righteousness, and the people with His TRUTH.
|
|
Psalms 98:7-9
Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that
dwell therein. Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be
joyful together Before the LORD; for
He cometh to judge the earth: with
righteousness shall He judge the world, and the people with equity. |
|
Psalms 135:14
For
the LORD will judge His
people, and He will repent
Himself concerning His servants. |
Still
worried about that big white wall? Never forget about God's
GRACE.
Love is
also something that we should never neglect, because it may also be part
of our
SAVING GRACE.
|
1 Peter 4:8
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for
charity shall cover the multitude of sins. |
|
Proverbs 10:12
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. |
And above all ...
|
John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting
life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through Him might be saved. |
Alleluia!
Though the world is in
quite a mess, and we as Christians await the Day of the Lord with
anticipation because of our longing to be with Jesus, we are not to hope
for it to get here. The Bible says:

Amos 5:18-20
Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for
you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light. As if a man did
flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and
leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. Shall not the
day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no
brightness in it? |
THE GREAT WHITE
THRONE JUDGMENT
GOD WILL JUDGE EVERYONE
OVERCOME
AFTER THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT
GOD WILL CREATE
THE NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH
REVELATION
CHAPTER 21-22
THIS CHAPTER REVEALS WHAT
