Abraham's Bosom Meaning Quest

Where is Paradise in the Bible Located

To those who can hear ... The Truth of Abraham's Bosom meaning was shared by Jesus when He said;

John 3:12-13

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of Heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to Heaven, but He that came down from Heaven, even the Son of man which is in Heaven.

Wow! Jesus is saying that no man had ascended to Heaven at the time of His statement. That would be understandable and even logical, if we find that they went to the Bosom of Abraham. However, many ask, what about Enoch and Elijah? Did they not go straight to Heaven? They ask this question, because it says this in the Bible:

Genesis 5:24

Enoch walked with God (on Earth) and he was not (he disappeared) for God took him.

And it says of Elijah that the Lord would take Elijah up into Heaven by a whirlwind and as Elisha and Elijah were walking, sure enough, a chariot of fire with horses of fire divided the two men, and Elijah was taken up into Heaven by a whirlwind.

2 Kings 2:1-11

1 And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elijah into Heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel.
3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.
5 And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
6 And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the Lord hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on.
7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.
8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.
9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into Heaven.

But, again ... Jesus said clearly:

John 3:12-13

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of Heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to Heaven, but He that came down from Heaven, even the Son of man which is in Heaven.

Abraham's Bosom Meaning Mystery

Where is Paradise in the Bible Realm

Oh my, how could someone ever find harmony in such a matter?

Well, the Abraham's Bosom meaning does not seem so difficult to comprehend if you think spiritually. Anyone who is a Christian knows that Faith and logic are two completely different things, and that the logic of our God IS Faith. So, let us proceed with a spiritual mindset into this Abraham's Bosom Biblical Paradise adventure, as to be able to discern what we read.

If you read the Apostle Paul's second letter to the Corinthians, where he tells about a vision that he once had. Paul says:

2 Corinthians 12:2-4

2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the Third Heaven.
3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
4 How that he was caught up into Paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

Okie dokie. It appears that we find within the Bosom of Abraham study thus far that there are three Heavens or perhaps it would be better said as being three levels, stages or realms of Heaven. Paul has shown us that there are these stages of Heaven and a Biblical Paradise. The words "caught up" are in harmony with what we read of Elijah.

Maybe Enoch and Elijah were taken up to a different level of Heaven than what Jesus spoke of ... Maybe they were taken to Paradise . Now, remember what Jesus said It was in response to a man asking Him, how can this be:

John 3:12-13

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of Heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to Heaven, but He that came down from Heaven, even the Son of man which is in Heaven.

Abraham's Bosom Meaning Secret

Where is Paradise in the Bible Today

John 3:1-13

1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his Mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to Heaven, but He that came down from Heaven, even the Son of man which is in Heaven.

Abraham's Bosom Meaning Reminder ... Again, Anyone who is a Christian knows that Faith and logic are two completely different things, and that the logic of our God IS Faith. You will need to remember this Truth as your learn the answer to What is the Bosom of Abraham, so, let us keep this Truth in mind as to be able to discern what we are about to read. The Bible says that we were created in the image of God:

Genesis 1:27

So, God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.

We were created in God's image in that we have three distinct parts. The soul, the body and the spirit. The Bible says that when we die each one goes a certain place ...

Our BODY returns to dust:

Genesis 3:19

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Our SPIRIT returns to God:

Ecclesiastes 12:7

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Biblical Paradise Promise
What is the Bosom of Abraham Like

Jesus said that when a righteous man died, their SOUL goes to Abraham's Bosom.

Luke 16:20-23

20And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22And it came to pass that the beggar died and was carried by the Angels into Abraham's Bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23And in Hell he (The rich man) lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

What is the Bosom of Abraham origin? Let us seek the Truth within the Bible again, shall we? As we have been discussing, Abraham's Bosom is also known as the Biblical Paradise. Why do we say that? When Jesus was on the Cross, and the thief who was crucified next to Him said, "Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy Kingdom." Jesus said to him ...

Luke 23:42-43

42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy Kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him ... Verily I say unto thee, "Today" shalt thou be with me in "Paradise."

This is a VERY important Bosom of Abraham point of interest to ponder upon ... Since Jesus promised the man that he would be with Jesus in PARADISE "today," (Meaning that same day that they died) and we know that when Jesus died on the Cross, that He did not go straight to Heaven, but He was in the earth for the 3 days and 3 nights.

Matthew 12:40

For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Then after three days and 3 nights He rose from the dead and then 40 days later, when He ascended, He went to Heaven to be seated at the right hand of God.

Acts 1:2-9

2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Abraham's Bosom Meaning Revealed

Where is Paradise in the Bible To Be

So, where did Jesus go for the 3 days and 3 nights after He told the man next to him on the Cross was Paradise?

Luke 23:43

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in Paradise.

Abraham's Bosom is the Spiritual Biblical Paradise that Jesus promised the man on the cross next to Jesus during the Crucifixion, that he would be going to with Jesus upon their death. But, where is and What is the Bosom of Abraham? Let's take a more in depth look into what Jesus shared with us earlier in this Bosom of Abraham Bible expedition:

Luke 16:19-31

19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the Angels into Abraham's Bosom the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in Hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Again, we see that Jesus said that when Lazarus died, that he was carried by the Angels into Abraham's Bosom which is the Biblical Paradise. Now, the rich man in Jesus' parable dies and is buried but his soul goes to Hell. Jesus said this rich man then looks up in agony and sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in the Bosom of Abraham. Next, the rich man cries out, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, so that he can dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue, because I am suffering in this flame.

What is the Bosom of Abraham and Hell Proximity

Wow, check this out ... Abraham's Bosom and Hell are close enough to each other so that voices can be heard from one place to the other yet still some distance away as we are told in Jesus' story that the rich man could see Abraham afar off. That means that those in Hell and those in Bosom of Abraham (also known as the Biblical Paradise) can actually see one another. Note that the rich man had to look UP from Hell to see Abraham's Bosom. Also note there were flames in hell.

Jesus goes on with the Bosom of Abraham story. Abraham said, remember that you received good things in your life and Lazarus received evil things, but now Lazarus is comforted and you are in pain. Abraham adds this very important little tidbit concerning the answer to ... Where is Abraham's Bosom?

Abraham described a great gulf, between the Bosom of Abraham and Hell so that nobody could pass from Hell into this Biblical Paradise. Now, stick with me for this next part and you have to think Spiritually. A gulf is an immeasurable space. So you have to imagine another realm. In short ... This "Great gulf" is a vast spiritual realm that keeps Hell and the Bosom of Abraham separate from one another.

Doing the math on all of the Abraham's Bosom meaning evidence provided in the Abraham's Bosom Bible verse Scripture ... This gives us a visual of two transparent cubes or orbs, one atop the other, but not physically connected. The top area is the Bosom of Abraham and the bottom is hell which is why the rich man's soul had to look up from the fiery abyss that he was in as to be able to see Abraham. There is a great space between the two areas, but you can see the other place and even communicate with those in the other realm.

Now, some folks try and suggest that Jesus went to Hell when He died. That even sounds horrific to say. The Bible actually states:

Acts 2:31

He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was NOT left (placed) in Hell, neither His flesh did see corruption.

So, why do some Christians believe that Jesus went to Hell? It is because some Religious leaders did not interpret specific Scripture properly and taught these Christians the Jesus in Hell concept. Here are a couple examples:

1 Peter 3:18-19

18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened (made alive) by the Spirit:
19 by which also He went and preached unto the spirits in prison.

1 Peter 4:6

For for this cause was the Gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

Now that you and I know the truth of how you can see and talk to those in Hell from the Bosom of Abraham, we are able to make sense of what Peter meant in the above passages. The answer to the mystery is that while Jesus was in Abraham's Bosom (Paradise) which He told the guy next to Him on the Cross that they would both be going to that day (Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in Paradise) ... Jesus teaching the Lost Souls in Hell.

As you can see, this matches Jesus' story about Abraham's Bosom and Hell being in a realm where you could talk to one another from either side. Jesus went to Bosom of Abraham and preached to lost souls in Hell across the great gulf. That is the way our Lord is. Always seeking to save the lost sheep. Just like us.

God's Judgment

Here is an interesting question ... Does what we just learned mean that after a person dies and goes to hell, they are still given opportunity to repent if they are able to HEAR the Gospel from someone in the Bosom of Abraham (Just as Jesus did) and choose to believe in Jesus? If not, why did Jesus preach to souls in Hell if it was hopeless?

Perhaps the answer is because these lost souls never had an opportunity to believe in and accept Jesus as their Savior because they died prior to being able to make that eternal choice.

Or perhaps it was because those lost and anguished souls who Jesus preached to who were in Hell, when in Abraham's Bosom, lived under the rules, regulations and judgment of the Old Covenant and were not able (Until Jesus) to be able to accept the New Covenant (New deal with God) like Christians do. At either rate ... I hope Jesus was able to save many of those souls in Hell while He was in the Bosom of Abraham.

Absolutely astonishing, huh? Our Lord is a loving and forgiving Lord. Now, doing a little more math on our Spiritual calculator ... This means that the final judgment may not be made when a person's heart stops ticking. It is written that the final judgment which is known as the Great White Throne Judgment does not occur until 1000 years after the coming End Times. Check out what else the Bible shares about when Jesus was in Abraham's Bosom and if those who He preached to could have be saved:

John 5:25-29

25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26 For as the Father hath life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself;
27 And hath given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of man.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

However ... After Jesus was here and Christianity spread throughout the entire world, most everyone has had an opportunity to accept Jesus while alive. Those who chose not to and are sentenced to Hell may not have the ability to be saved. Only God can judge such matters. This is a merciful, loving Father that sacrificed His Son to give us another opportunity. He is truly the God of Second Chances.

Here is something that is quite strange. Did you know that the Bible says that Christians will judge the Angels?

1 Corinthians 6:3

Know ye not that we shall judge Angels? how much more things that pertain to this life.

Abraham's Bosom Meaning Purpose

Where is Paradise in the Bible on the Future

The Bible clearly reveals that when the day of Judgment comes and those in Hell are brought up to be judged that those found unworthy will be placed in the Lake of Fire forever.

Revelation 20:11-15

11 And I saw a Great White Throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and Hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and Hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Quite a ride thus far, huh? Let's do a little more Abraham's Bosom meaning research as to discover more about the awesome Biblical Paradise. Look at this detailed information provided for us in the Bible concerning the Bosom of Abraham:

Revelation 2:7

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the Tree of Life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.

Now, if Abraham's Bosom is the Biblical Paradise and the tree of life is in the middle of Paradise, then the Tree of Life is in the middle of ... The Bosom of Abraham which brings up still more fascinating possibilities. Let us take a little Biblical Paradise field trip all the way back to the Book of Genesis. When speaking of Eden the Bible states:

Genesis 2:9

And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the Tree of Life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Genesis 3:22-24

22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the Tree of Life and eat, and live for ever:
23 Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the Garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24 So He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of (protect) the Tree of Life.

Where is Paradise in the Bible - Eden

Perhaps, God originally created Eden on earth, as a physical representation of the Spiritual Paradise located in another place in His universe (another realm). After the incident with Adam and Eve where they were evicted from the Garden of Eden causing what is known as the Original Sin, we can now gain admittance back into this Biblical Paradise by way of the most precious and loving gift of God's Grace and Faith in Jesus.

The Bosom of Abraham - New Heaven and Earth

Here is something interesting to share in our Abraham's Bosom meaning voyage ... The Bible tells us within the description of the upcoming New Heaven and New Earth something which does have some importance at this point of our Bosom of Abraham Bible lesson:

Revelation 22:2

In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Abraham's Bosom Meaning Truth

Where is Paradise in the Bible - Tree of Life

We see that the Tree of Life will be accessible again (as it was in the Biblical Paradise with Adam and Eve before the were evicted) at the time of the New Heaven and New Earth.

Now, let's take another Bosom of Abraham field trip ... Jesus tells us that when those who are resurrected and rise from the dead, are not married to those they were married to on Earth and do not marry in Heaven but rather become as Angels. He goes on to explain that they are not actually dead because, God is the God of the living.

Mark 12:18-27

and

Matthew 22:24-32

30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the Angels of God in Heaven.
31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

Isn't that just awesome? When we pass on to the next realm, we are not dead but rather, spiritually alive with no flesh. No more pain and no more tears. They are in Abraham's Bosom. They stay there until they are raised to Heaven just before the Rapture.

This is further explained by the Apostle Paul ...

1 Corinthians 15:51-52

51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last Trump: for the Trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Raised? If Christian believers who have died are already in Heaven, who are these "dead" Christian souls who are being raised?

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

John 5:25-30

25Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26 For as the Father hath life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself;
30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Oh and one more little Abraham's Bosom meaning tidbit ...

Daniel 12:1-2

1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

What is the Bosom of Abraham Entrance Fee

It is God's Eternal Life insurance policy for us. These verses not only confirm that many souls who are destined for Everlasting Life shall awake from their rest, it also gives us the timing of the Rapture which is a prophetic event where these two groups will meet in up the air, before going to Heaven:

Matthew 24:15-22

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

These two statements in both Daniel and Matthew confirm the timing:

And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time ...

And

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

The Bible clearly indicates that when a Christian dies ... They take on a new incorruptible form and rise to Heaven at the last Trumpet.

1 Corinthians 15:51-54

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the Trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

What is the Bosom of Abraham Bible Verse Debate

Most Christians cannot agree on the timing of the Rapture. But, most Christians agree the Rapture is yet to be. So, if it was Truth that the dead in Christ, go directly to Heaven ... What are they doing rising on the last day and meeting the Raptured Christians in the air at that same Trumpet of God?

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Here is Wisdom !!!

1 Corinthians 15:20-24

20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; Afterward they that are Christ's at His Coming.
24 Then cometh the end, when He shall have delivered up the Kingdom to God, even the Father; when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

This Scripture clearly says that Christians are resurrected at Christ's coming (Return) which will be at the Last Trumpet. These souls are somewhere else until that last Trumpet when they are called up just before the Christian Rapture. That somewhere else is ... The Bosom of Abraham.

John 3:12-13

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of Heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to Heaven, but He that came down from Heaven, even the Son of man which is in Heaven.
