The Vengeance is Mine Quote Explained
Over the years, I have seen some souls preach that if one ever sins, after one becomes a Christian, that they are destined for hell and they have no chance at God's Grace. This has had many lost and troubled Christians and potential Christians that God seeks to reach, feel they are inadequate and unworthy because they know that they have sinned and do sin after becoming a Christian and they walk away, never to return to Christianity.
This is one Vengeance is mine Bible verse that is used against Christians who sin after
they become Christians.
Hebrews 10:26-27
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have
received the knowledge of the Truth, there remaineth no more
sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery
indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
There are a few problems with that being the interpretation of the
above Scripture. First, I am sure we can all agree that most souls, if not all have
fallen short (sinned) after becoming a Christian. Is there one person
you know who has not sinned after becoming a Christian? Some may say
... "Yes, but my sins are little ole bitty things," and point to
another and say "But that persons sins are huge in comparison." Jesus
told of just such a person in Luke 18:10-14.
The problem with the Vengeance is mine Bible verse viewpoint is that the Bible is clear that if we
break one law, we break them all:
James 2:10
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point,
he is guilty of all.
So, if we all sin after we become Christians, how do we explain that
Scripture which is being used by some holier than thou judges to
condemn God's children?
Seemed pretty clear in that Scripture though, that if we willfully
sin after we become a Christian, we will fearfully look forward to
fiery indignation.
The Vengeance is Mine Quote Warning
First off ... Fiery indignation does not necessarily imply that we
will go to hell. It could very well mean that we will be corrected or
punished. I mean we experience "fiery" trials and that does not mean
actual fire.
1 Peter 4:12
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to
try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
And what of that word "indignation?" It is defined as meaning
"righteous anger." So fiery indignation is just that ... A fiery
anger from the Lord, usually resulting in correction or punishment.
However, looking in the Word of God (Bible) and seeing His wrath
kindled many times from the men and women who disobeyed Him from the
Book of Genesis to those who will in the future, as shared in the
Book of Revelation, we find that it was/is rarely eternal punishment.
So, we are now considering that maybe the Vengeance is mine Bible verse Scripture being used to
scare away the precious little lambs of God who sometimes sin just as
we all do, obviously means that sinning after becoming a Christian
angers the Lord and can be a punishable offense, though not
necessarily eternal.
Check out the following Scripture:
Hebrews 12:6-10
6 For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth
every son whom He receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with
sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are
partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which
corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be
in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their
own pleasure; but He for our profit, that we might be partakers of
His Holiness.
Chasten is defined as ... To correct by punishment or discipline. It
even uses the word "tame" as in taming an unruly child. So chasten
means to correct or punish as to tame us.
The Vengeance is Mine Quote Deception
The Vengeance is mine Bible verse question is ... Why would God "Chasten" Christians?
God punishes us for sinning after becoming Christians, so that we
will not be deemed as Fatherless (bastards) so we can "partake of His
Holiness." How could the ideology of Once we become Christians and
we sin one time after that, we go to Hell,
ever make sense?
The Vengeance is mine Bible verse point of interest ... Evidence points out yet again, Houston, we have a problem with Scripture interpretation.
Now for those of you who may be saying, Woooooohooooooo baby, I
can sin after being a Christian!
You can stop doing the
Snoopy dance. Though God is all about Love and Grace, it is down
right scary when we anger God:
Hebrews 10:31
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
So, do not use God's Love and Grace as an opportunity to sin.
Here is a little tidbit of information for you. Did you know that the
word "opportunity" was not used in the KJV of the Bible until the New
Testament? Very fitting because we now have opportunity through Jesus
who brought in the New Covenant prophesied in the Old Testament and
revealed in the New Testament.
So, use this Grace as an opportunity to overcome the curse that Paul
spoke of in Romans, Chapter 7 when he said those words that echo in
our mind and heart when we sin ...
Oh wretched man that I am.
This sin, lives in our flesh, which was placed upon us because of
Adam and Eve's choice when tempted in the Garden of Eden:
Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by
sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
The Vengeance is Mine Quote Fear
The Vengeance is Mine Bible Verse Woe
Due to this Choice made by the first man and woman ... The sin is now
in the flesh of all mankind and when we are born, we are destined to
death ... Unless we make the choice to believe in Jesus:
This may sound kinda weird, but if you stop and think about how many
times you did something and just wanted to kick your own behind for
making the unwise choice. You will see that there is something within
us that wants its own way.
It is self ... It is the flesh.
Hey, have you ever noticed that self spelled backwards is fles. Kind
of close to flesh huh? Just a kind of weird thing I wanted to share
with you. The good news is ... This sin within our flesh "curse" ...
Will soon be lifted.
When we are lifted out of these bodies and given a new body as shared
in 1
Corinthians 15:35-57 ... It reveals that soon, we will trade up
this cursed body of sin and receive a celestial body and become
immortal.
Meaning ... We will live forever with Jesus. Until then ... We fight.
Not by focusing on the selfish addictions that we seek to be rid of,
but rather by devoting all our mind, heart, time and energy to Jesus.
Surround ourselves with that which we seek to become. Why should you
surround yourself with things that remind you of God and your walk
with Him? Because you become as what you surround yourself with. Your
eyes are the portal to the soul, so wouldn't it be a good idea to
influence your soul with holy things? We are greatly influenced by
what our eyes are exposed to.
How true and Biblical is this? Jacob influenced his father-in-law
Laban's flocks to bear striped, speckled, and spotted offspring by
facing the animals toward tree branches that he peeled in striped,
speckled and spotted patterns (Genesis 30:37-39).
If you want to be conformed to the image of God, surround yourself
with Godly things.
Avoid being idle. I have truly found that being idle is the devil's
playground. There is nothing like an idle mind sitting there like a
sponge wanting to soak up ideas, meanwhile an enemy of our soul
hanging out who is more than willing to hook you up with some
thoughts, which will blossom into sin.
Then, he runs off and stands in line in Heaven, like he did in the
book of Job, so he can accuse you for thinking those thoughts and
even acting on said thoughts:
Revelation 12:10
For the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them
before our God day and night.
The Vengeance is Mine Quote Promise
The Vengeance is Mine Bible Verse Blessing
Many feel that, because Satan is the enemy of our souls, that we can
go around mocking and cursing Satan. The Bible is clear on this
matter:
2 Peter 2:10-11
10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust
of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they,
selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
11 Whereas Angels, which are greater in power and
might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
The wording of these scriptures does not reflect the resistance of
mankind against human government, But rather mankind speaking against
supernatural powers and authority. This is proven when it says Angels fear to bring accusation against these "dignities."
Angels certainly do not fear to bring accusation against a human.
Furthermore, the word "dignities" comes from the Greek word "doxa,"
which is translated as being "supernatural powers." The book of Jude
further explains:
Jude 1:8-9
8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh,
despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
9 Yet Michael the Archangel, when contending with the
devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against
him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
Our enemy, Satan is of such "high authority" that even Michael
"does not bring against him a railing accusation but simply said "The
Lord rebuke you" ...
High Authority?
How is that you may ask? Our enemy of the soul ... Satan was chosen
by God to be an anointed cherub ...
Ezekiel 28:14
Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so:
thou wast upon the Holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down
in the midst of the stones of fire.
If even Michael... An Archangel chooses not to accuse Satan of
being this or that but only says "The Lord rebuke thee" ... Shouldn't
we as mere humans follow suit? God created Satan which means Satan
belongs to God.
The Vengeance is Mine Quote Barrier
And God anointed him just as He did King Saul and King David. And
David made it clear that we are not to talk or act harshly against
God's anointed, whether it be past or present.
1 Samuel 24:6
And he said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing
unto my master, the LORD's anointed, to stretch forth mine hand
against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.
1 Samuel 24:10
Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that the LORD had delivered
thee to day into mine hand in the cave: and some bade me kill thee:
but mine eye spared thee; and I said, I will not put forth mine hand
against my lord; for he is the LORD's anointed.
2 Samuel 1:14
And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth
thine hand to destroy the LORD's anointed?
Even though David was to replace Saul as the anointed king ... Even
though Saul sought to kill David ... David knew better than to talk
against or harm someone God once anointed. And that was a human who
was anointed. Satan was/is an anointed angel.
It is simple. The Bible is clear that God is allowing Satan to finish
out his "term" until he is thrown into the pit for 1000 years.
After the End Times is over and Antichrist is defeated by Jesus at
Armageddon ...
The Vengeance is Mine Quote Judgment
Satan is cast into pit for 1000 years. This is during the Millennium.
Revelation 20:2
And He laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil,
and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.
And when released after the 1000 years, Satan will try again and then
is cast into the Lake of Fire ... Forever.
Revelation 20:7-10
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan
shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the
four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together
to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and
compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and
fire came down from God out of Heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the
lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet
are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Today ... Satan
knows that his time is short. He is going to do some horrible things
during the End Times through Antichrist.
Here is Wisdom
It is always best to watch your own fruits and the fruits of others
as to determine if they are being influenced by the enemy of our soul.
Galatians 5:19-23
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which
are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance,
emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such
like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time
past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of
God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
The Vengeance is Mine Quote of Love
As you can see ... Anger, hatred, wrath, etc. are fruits of the flesh
and not the Holy
Spirit.
Ephesians 5:9-10
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and
righteousness and Truth;)
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
So to hold these fruits within for anyone is not righteous.
It is a cancer eating within. Despite who these feelings are being
held for.
I hope I have proven the truth of what is acceptable unto our Lord.
The next time you are lured away by our enemy of the soul and
afterward are disgusted with yourself for falling victim yet again,
Don't go get mad ... Go get Jesus !!!
Ephesians 6:10-20
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the
power of His might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of
this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done
all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with
truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel
of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of Faith, wherewith ye
shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the
Spirit, which is the Word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the
Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication
for all Saints;
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I
may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the Gospel,
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I
may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
The Vengeance is mine Bible verse tidbit of Truth ... The only weapon of offense listed is the Word of God. Don't be mad at
Satan, be glad for the Grace of
our Lord Jesus.
Always remember friends that God knows what is going on and how His
enemy is the one that is luring His children to sin and how His enemy
is seeking our soul. He gave His only Son to be beaten, battered and
torn, then hung on a Cross for the past and present sins of His
children, that the enemy lured and will lure His children into doing.
What has occurred my friends is comparable to your own child being
kidnapped by an evil soul and taught horrible things and one day the
child was found as an adult, full of the sins that the child within
was taught for many years and has all these terrible addictions.
What parent who had their child returned would say ... "Well, Lookie
here. Welcome home kiddo and all that jazz, but if you sin one time, you are out of here."
Yeah, I have trouble believing that a loving and merciful Father
would be so eager to have us thrown into Eternal fire with His enemy
because we sin once after becoming a Christian because of having to
deal with the baggage we carry from the flesh, being filled with sin.
The Vengeance is Mine Quote Summary
If you ever see anyone preaching that nonsense to God's children ... Stand up for Truth and save the soul from the grasp of the enemy of our soul speaking his lies, through one portraying themselves as being wise and religious. Even Satan quotes God's Word but warps the
meaning.
So, to share The Vengeance is mine Bible verse Truth with others is right to do. But, Condemning God's children to hell for sinning after becoming a Christian and mocking God's Angels is certainly not. God will chasten His own children as He sees fit and God will chasten
His Angels, such as Satan, as He sees fit.
It is God's job, not ours.
Vengeance is Mine Saith The Lord
Romans 12:19
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto
wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith
the Lord.
