ENOCH BIBLE STUDY COMPARISON ENOCH SCRIPTURE TRUTH
Many have questions about the Book of Enoch and the Bible. The
Book of Enoch is a book that many believe to be an authentic
prophecy for the End Times. Enoch was the seventh person in
the bloodline from Adam. The Bible says that Enoch walked
with God. The Book of Enoch shares some very interesting
events. It speaks of the angels and gives detailed
descriptions and explains their administration. It also
possesses some End Times information that we will compare
with Bible scripture.
There are some writings that
many claim was written by Enoch in the book of Enoch and the writings were passed down thru the
generations much like the Bible was.
But is that TRUTH?
WE SHARE THIS ENOCH BIBLE STUDY ON ENOCH SCRIPTURE AND THE CONTENTS OF THIS BOOK OF ENOCH ONLY BECAUSE IT IS SUGGESTED BY MANY TO BE A COPY OF THE AUTHENTIC WORKS. HOWEVER WE DO NOT
SUGGEST ANYONE ADHERE TO ANYTHING BUT THAT WHICH IS
WRITTEN IN GOD'S WORD AND WE ONLY SHARE THIS AS TO NOT BE
NEGLIGENT IN SHARING SOMETHING THAT IS AVAILABLE IN
THE EVENT THAT IT DOES POSSESS TRUTH.
ENOCH BIBLE STUDY ON PROPHECYENOCH SCRIPTURE RESEARCH
It is the following Scripture in the Bible which
caused us to share certain aspects of the Book of Enoch with you.
Jude 1:14
And
Enoch also,
the seventh from Adam,
prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord
cometh with ten thousands of His Saints. |
This Scripture suggests that Jude was
referring to writings of Enoch which gives validity to the
claims that Enoch DID have some type of writings.
Let's take a lil journey and
learn more about Enoch ...
The Bible tells us little of
this individual named Enoch. He was the seventh in the bloodline from Adam. He
was the great grandpa of Noah to give you an idea of the timing of his presence
on Earth.
Genesis 5:21-24
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat
Methuselah: And Enoch
walked with God
after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and
begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch
were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch
walked with God: and he was not;
for God took him.
|
Enoch walked with God and did
not die but was rather "taken by God"
This is confirmed by Paul.
Hebrews
11:5
By faith Enoch was translated that
he should not see death;
and was not found, because God had translated him: for
before his translation he had this testimony, that he
pleased God. |
Much of the book of Enoch has stories related to Biblical Scripture and some of
the Bible Scripture is in harmony with the words in the Book of Enoch.
For example this story ...
Genesis 6:1-6
And it came to pass, when men began
to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
That the sons of God (angels) saw the
daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all
which they chose. And the LORD said,
My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet
his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
There were giants in the earth in those
days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters
of men, and they bare children to them,
the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. And God saw
that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every
imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it
repented the LORD that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at
His heart. |
THE BIBLE REVEALS THAT BEFORE THE FLOOD OF NOAH'S TIME, THERE WERE SOME ANGELS IN HEAVEN THAT CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN AND
HAD CHILDREN WITH HUMAN WOMEN AND MIXED THE ANGELIC WITH HUMANITY.
In the Book of Enoch Chapters 6-16 ...
It speaks of the same story, but elaborates a lil more as to what happened next
...
It says the angels who chose to leave Heaven to have a union with human women
were sentenced to hell.
Peter says the same thing.
2
Peter 2:4-5
For if God spared not the angels that
sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness,
to be reserved unto judgment; And spared
not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of
righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly ... |
According to the Book of Enoch ...
These fallen angels taught the world
vanity, pride and taught them how to build weapons and every
foul thing.
God saw that the world was foul after this
and flooded the world. He took the fallen angels and placed
them in Hell. The children (the giants) of the human women
and the fallen angels are now these evil spirits.
Is it coincidence that Peter and other writers in the Bible echoed the words in the Book of Enoch?

IN DEPTH ENOCH BIBLE STUDY ENOCH SCRIPTURE EXCERPTS
The Book of
Enoch is now usually designated I
Enoch, to distinguish it from the
later Apocalypse, “The Secrets of
Enoch” which is known as II Enoch.
The former is also called the
Ethiopic Enoch, the later the
Slavonic Enoch, after the languages
of the earliest versions extant of
each respectively. The Book of
Enoch, like the Book of Daniel, was
written originally in Aramaic and
partly in Hebrew. No copy of the
original language of either is known
to be in existence. Latin and Greek
versions have only in part been
discovered but the Ethiopic Version
has been preserved in twenty-nine
manuscripts.
The manuscript upon which this
translation was made was found in
Ethiopia, in 1768, by the Scotsman,
James Bruce. An interesting account
by Charles F. Potter, concerning
this discovery appeared in the Dec
7, 1935 edition of “Liberty”
magazine which reads as Follows:
“ ... In the mountain fastness of
Ethiopia there was preserved for
thirteen centuries a precious
manuscript which not only throws
much light on the Bible but which also
was itself in the bible for five
centuries and which should be
restored to the canon of Holy Writ.
The
story is a fascinating one. When
Frumentius, or some one else,
translated the Bible into Ethiopic,
or Geez, as it was then called, in
the fourth century, the canon, (or
books of the Bible recognized by the
Church as the inspired rule of faith
and practice) had not yet been
determined. For more than a
century, scholars and church
officials debated as to whether or
not certain gospels, epistles and
apocalypses should be included. For
instance, it was long debated which
to include in the canon, the Book of
Revelation, or the Book of Enoch,
which had been accepted as Scripture
by Jesus and Paul, and the whole
Christian Church, for several
centuries. Revelation finally won
out, and became the last book of the
Bible. The Book of Enoch, under a
stigma because deemed uncanonical,
gradually dropped out of use, and
finally disappeared.
As time went on, scholars of the
more intelligent sort desired more
and more to see a copy of it.
But there was none to be had.
Centuries passed. A student of
Arabic, on James Bruce, Scotsman,
cherished the idea that the lost
Book of Enoch still existed in an
Ethiopic version.
In 1768 he went to Ethiopia and six
years later returned to London with
three manuscripts of the Ethiopic
Enoch, one of which he left to the
British Museum.
For over half a century Bruce’s
precious manuscript remained on the
shelves of the British Museum before
it was translated by Richard
Laurence, Archbishop of Cashel,
Professor of Hebrew in the
University of Oxford. Even then it
was not until the late nineteenth
and early twentieth centuries that
Canon R.H. Charles’ translation and
comment called the attention of
scholars to the “immeasurable”
importance of this document ...”
“This precious book throws much
light on the thinking of our Lord
Jesus, also St. Paul.
Both regarded it as sacred scripture
and quoted from it. Our gratitude
to the Ethiopians could be expressed
by restoring to it’s proper place in
our Bible this important and
extremely valuable Ethiopic Enoch”
According
to Canon Charles, the various
elements of which the Book of Enoch
in its present form is made up
belong to different dates. Thus one
can expect a diversity of
authorship, and of this there can be
no shadow of doubt. However, while
there is not unity of authorship
there is, none the less,
uniformity. Several scholars
suggest we should speak of the
collection as the “Books” of Enoch,
not the “Book” of Enoch.
Some of
the authors of the Book of Enoch
(and there were many) belonged to
the true succession of the prophets,
and it was simply owing to the evil
character of the period, in which
their lot was cast, that they were
obliged to issue their works
pseudonymously. The Law which
claimed to be the highest and final
word from God could tolerate no
fresh message from God, so when men
were moved by the Spirit of God to
make known their visions relating to
the past, the present, and the
future they did so under some
ancient name.
Not only
does the Book of Enoch come from
many writers and almost as many
periods, it touches upon every
subject that could have arisen in
the ancient schools of the
prophets. Nearly every religious
idea appears in a variety of forms
and during the two centuries before
the Christian era played an
important role in the development of
the Hebrew theology. Conflicting
views are advanced on the Messiah,
the Messianic kingdom, the origin of
sin, Sheol, the final judgment, the
resurrection, and the nature of the
future life. There is an elaborate
angelology and demonology, and much
space is devoted to the calendar and
the heavenly bodies and their
movements.
The
citations of Enoch by the Testaments
of the Twelve Patriarchs and by the
Book of Jubilees show that at the
close of the second century B.C.,
and during the first century B.C.,
this book was regarded in certain
circles as inspired. When we come
down to the first century A.D., we
find that it is recognized as
Scripture by Jude (Jude 14). In the
next century this recognition is
given amply in the Epistle of
Barnabas (16:5) and in the third
century by Clement and Irenaeus.
After the third century the Book of
Enoch fell into discredit and
gradually passed out of circulation.
The
reader who comes to peruse the Book
of Enoch, for the first time, will
find much that appears to him
strange and unattractive; he must
not, however, be repelled by this;
for in due time he will come to
other parts of the book which he
will soon see to be of real value
from many points of view. But even
regarding the less attractive parts,
he will find that when these are
carefully studied they contain more
that is of interest than appears on
the surface. It is well to remember
that there at least four quite
independent books included in the
“Book of Enoch”, exclusive of
certain “Noah” fragments and other
pieces. One is therefore, advised
to treat these as separate works,
and to read them as such. There is
no reason to begin with the book
that happens to come first,
especially as the first 36 chapters
do not all belong together.

Did Peter and others read the writings of Enoch as well?
Is it coincidence that Jude spoke of things Enoch said?
Or did someone read the Bible and ask themselves some of the questions we would
ask after reading about the angels and women and the children of this union and
create a book and claim that Enoch wrote the book long ago?
THAT IS THE QUESTION
