The Book of Acts, formally called, "The Acts of the Apostles" contains an history of the ministry and miracles of the Apostles of Christ, and is sort of a journal of their actions. It begins at the ascension of Christ, and reaches to the imprisonment of the Apostle Paul at Rome.

It tells about the first church at Jerusalem, and of the progress of the Gospel there, and in Judea, by the means of all the Apostles, and particularly Peter who also first opened the door of faith to the Gentiles. It shows how the Gospel spread from Jerusalem to the Gentile world, especially by the Apostle Paul, whose companion was Luke, who was the writer of this book.

Most believe that The Acts of the Apostles was written by a Gentile physician named Luke who also wrote the Gospel of Luke. The Book of Acts picks up after Jesus rises to Heaven, after His death and resurrection. The Apostles are left to continue to share the Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Apostles share with us the joys and struggles of the Christian life. The Christians in the Book of Acts are persecuted for their faith and also perform miracles.
