The Creation Story Truth

In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth.

You've read the story a hundred times before with your good intentions of starting at the beginning and reading the whole Bible. However ... Let's look at the story with a little discernment. Let's read between the lines.

The earth had no shape or form at all. Then, the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

This tells us that the Holy Spirit has been with us since the beginning.

Day 1: God said to the Holy Spirit, Let there be light: and there was.

Day 2: God created the firmament. What is the firmament? God called it Heaven.

Day 3: God created dry land which separated the water into Seas. Then He made grass, plant life and trees.

Day 4: God created the sun, moon, and stars.

Day 5: God created all sea life and all things that fly.

Day 6: God created all the rest of the living creatures that move on the earth. And then ... God created man.

Genesis 1:26-27

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man is His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.

Oh now that is sooooooo cool. We are made in the image of God.

But, how are we made in the image of God? We know that there are different genders, races, sizes, shapes, demeanors, etc. of humans so He must be referring to a spiritual likeness of some sort.

Let us investigate this further shall we? Let's look at the statement again:

Genesis 1:26

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:

Creation Bible Study on the Trinity
The Creation Story Mystery

Who is God talking to? The answer is ... He is talking to Himself ... Sort of.

Now, I know this sounds a little strange to us mortals, but it's true ... It's going to get a little stranger but in the end you will say ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

1 John 5:7

There are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost and these three are one.

See, there are three entities that are really one. Let's take a closer look at who these three are ... The Bible said they were:

The Father ... Which is obviously God

The Word ... Which is Jesus (John 1:1-5) and

The Holy Ghost ... Which is the Holy Spirit

Many call this the Trinity.

So according to the Bible ... God has three parts of Himself which all make One. We were created in like manner in that we also have three parts. The soul, the flesh and the spirit also known as the spirit, the water and the blood.

We were created in God's image:

1 John 5:8

And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

Let's talk about our three parts and see if we can prove it ... Let's look at the spirit the water and the blood ...

Our bodies are made up of mostly what? Water. Therefore the water is the Flesh. Our blood which includes our DNA, distinguishes us, one from the other so this is our Soul. Perhaps that is why the Bible says that Abel's blood cried out to God, to identify it's owner to God (Genesis 4:10). The spirit is given to us by God and departs from us when we die and is why you will find it says that people gave up the ghost or spirit when they died, in the Bible.

Taking this a little further ... That means that our flesh (body) and our spirit is subject to our soul (mind). God said "Let there be" and God's Spirit said "gotcha" and brought it to pass. Jesus, being the Body or Flesh of God, performed God's will. So what our Soul desires and believes, our spirit will bring forth. It's so true. Let's say you hear that a loved one passed away, your spirit reacts to you and is all of the sudden sad and your body reacts to your thoughts and changes. Sometimes fear and even Love causes butterflies in the stomach which is the flesh. Same with all other thoughts that cause emotion.

Did you know that the senses are what we use to obtain thoughts? There are actually 6 senses ... What we see, hear, smell, feel, taste and think. That's right, we get thoughts. Sometimes they are from the depths of our minds. Sometimes they are from God and sometimes ... They are not. The devil likes to use our senses to gain entry to our spirit. If he can make you think something, then he knows your spirit will react and God judges the spirit. Pretty clever huh?

The devil likes to use our thoughts and control our actions and feelings like some kind of puppet. Well it sounds like we need to control our thoughts and as we all know ... That is the hard part. You aren't alone. Even Paul said I do that which I would not do. So what do we do? Pray for God to help you control your thoughts in order for you to perform His will.

Awesome Stuff!

Make sure you ponder on this my friend. As we were created to do ... In His image.

This shows that the Holy Spirit is God. Think of it this way. If your name was Junior, you might say to yourself, "Okay, Junior, today we're going to start a new Bible study program." You are talking to your spirit, which is you.

Soooooooooooooo, when God said (Genesis 1:26) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness ... God was talking to Himself ... Sort of.

Let's get back to the Creation, shall we?

After God created mankind in His image, God blessed mankind and told them to be productive, fill the earth, and control it. He gave us power over all the other creatures that He made and said that the plants He created would be for food.

Day 7: On the seventh day, God rested. Imagine if you can, the greatness of God, and how precious His rest is. He blessed the seventh day and set it apart because it was so dear to Him. We call it the Sabbath. The fourth commandment says to keep the Sabbath Holy. Jesus told us that Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath (Day of rest). Now the Sabbath is actually Friday night to Saturday night in Israel and not Sunday as many practice in the United States. Sunday is the Lord's Day which is the Day the Lord was resurrected. Even our calendars reveal this truth. Sunday is at the start of the week. As it says in the Bible ... Jesus was raised on the first day of the week. (Matthew 28:1) Just a little tidbit for you in case you didn't know.

Creation Bible Study Summary
The Creation Story Conclusion

And that, my friends, is the true story of creation. There is nothing about a big bang, or how a huge explosion can cause something as miraculous as mankind with all of our creativity originating from an organism in the ocean. It was all created by God, not some monkey business. Many refuse to give Him the glory for His own creation. Take care and be sure to look for the next study of the Bible ... Adam and Eve ...
