Christian Laws in the Bible Lesson
Christian Rules in the Bible Changes

Greetings to you once again, and happy to have you here at Daily Bread to share this last chapter of The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Romans. Paul has covered many topics in this one letter but if you were to summarize the entire letter, you could probably say that it's a very good guideline of how to live life as a Christian. Faith is the key factor. If you were to go back and reread this letter, or any letter that Paul wrote, for that matter, you'll see that Faith is the secret weapon that we Christians have that is stronger than anything the enemy can attack with.

In much of this last chapter, Paul sends greetings to various people from Rome and elsewhere. You can read through them in your Bible in Romans 16:1-16. Then Paul gives a kind warning to the people.

Romans 16:17

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark [identify to yourself] them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Who is Paul referring to? False teachers! The worldly! False prophets! These may be strangers, friends, family, publications, songs, sit-coms, trends ... Well, just about anyone and anything you can imagine that doesn't have the same passion for Christianity and the welfare of your soul as you do!

Paul sincerely expresses his care for us. He warns us that those people don't serve the Lord, but their own hunger for evil and wrong, and that they will say anything to lure innocent souls. He adds:

Romans 16:19

For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

What does that mean? Jesus explains it this way:

Matthew 10:16

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Paul continues:

Romans 16:20

And the God of peace shall bruise satan under your feet shortly.
The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Similarly to his greeting at the beginning of this chapter, Paul continues addressing certain people only now he sends the greetings of others to the receivers of his letter. You can read this in Romans 16:21-23.

Christian Laws in the Bible Hope
Christian Rules in the Bible Gift

Paul closes his letter with such a wonderful reverence and glory to God, as he always does:

Romans 16:24-27

24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
27 To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.

Oh, and that mystery that he speaks of in Verse 25 is everlasting life:

1 Corinthians 15:51-54

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Christian Laws in the Bible Summary
Christian Rules in the Bible Conclusion

Okay folks ... Is Paul saying that the scriptures and the prophets (of the Old Testament) tell of the mystery? If you read the words carefully, paying attention to the commas, he is saying rather that the mystery would be made known to "all nations" ... In other words the Jewish and the Gentiles ... The whole world. And did He not say there would be a revealing of His Grace to all? We read about it within this letter of Paul's. Go ahead and research it!

Congratulations on completing the study of The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Romans!
