Let’s begin shall we? There is no problem for most
Christians to understand and believe that God Loves us. However, it
is much more difficult (For many) to comprehend that we can have a
friendship with God or that you could actually say to yourself ...
God is my friend. Why? It is because, most Christian see our Lord as
some far off deity and could never imagine God being their Friend.
To start our, I am a Friend of God Bible verse voyage to prove that
we can have a friendship with God, I would like to share something
that Jesus said:
And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of
unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you
into everlasting habitations.
Jesus is saying that we should befriend those who may not deemed as
being socially acceptable by the majority. But why? Well, let’s
look within the Bible for Truth ... Jesus Himself was called a friend
The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say,
Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of
publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her
Wisdom is justified of her children?
Let us take a lil God is my friend field trip ... The Religious
leaders of that time looked upon things from a carnal point
Their own !!!
Jesus was sharing that there is a
different Spiritual viewpoint and that Wisdom is of the Spirit,
which they lacked and the chosen children of God that could
hear, possessed. These souls understood and justified the
Wisdom within God’s choice to reach for the lost.
So, was Jesus a friend of sinners? Let’s go see ...
I Am a Friend of God Bible Verse Vow
God is My Friend Promise
Jesus made it
clear that we are to befriend these souls who are looked
down upon by others and not just those we deem as being
socially acceptable by others in our lives.
12 Then said He also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends,
nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest
they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
13 But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed,
the lame, the blind:
14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot
recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of
15 And when one of them that sat at meat with Him heard
these things, he said unto Him, Bessed is he that shall eat bread in
the Kingdom of God.
16 Then said He unto him, A
certain man made a great supper, and bade many:
17 And sent his servant
at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things
are now ready.
18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse.
The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must
needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
19 And another said, I
have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee
have me excused.
20 And another said, I have married a wife, and
therefore I cannot come.
21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord
these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his
servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and
bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the
22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded,
and yet there is room.
23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out
into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my
house may be filled.
24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which
were bidden shall taste of my supper.
This ... I am a Friend of God Bible verse study clearly points out that these same souls
who the world finds unworthy and too sinful are the ones
that Jesus has chosen to come to His Marriage Supper, so it
is wise to befriend em now cuz they are gonna be there with
the arm of Jesus around ’em.
Pssst ... All Christians and those called to be Christians are one of these souls. Let us read on a bit more of this
friendship with God path:
25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and
said unto them,
26 If any man come to me, and hate not his
father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren,
and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my
27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come
after me, cannot be my disciple.
Did we read that correctly?
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother,
and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and
his own life also, he cannot be my disciple
Is Jesus saying that we are to hate our family members? He is saying we
are to serve Him and to allow NOTHING or NOBODY to come
between He and us. This includes family and friends who may
have worldly views within their mind and heart.
I Am a Friend of God Bible Verse Meaning
God is My Friend Proof
This brings to mind and heart these Words:
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that
the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever
therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Let’s look back at what Jesus was sharing in the book of Luke.
28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not
down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have
sufficient to finish it?
29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the
foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it
begin to mock him,
30 Saying, This man began to build, and was
not able to finish.
I am a Friend of God Bible verse tidbit of Truth ... One should
prepare and step forth in 100% Faith and devotion to his or
her cause. You are not quite living, until you find
something worth trading it all up for and even dying for. No
Jesus is worthy. The Lord continues:
33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh
not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
is good: but if the salt have lost his savour,
wherewith shall it be seasoned?
35 It is neither fit
for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast
it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
So, we are to have a fiery passion in serving God and do so
with unconditional Love for all others and no partiality as
to the social status of His children.
But the wisdom
that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle,
and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits,
without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Friend of God Bible Verse Says to Love All
God is My Friend and Yours and You Have a Friend in Jesus Promise
In order to establish this friendship with God, we are to befriend
all of God’s children, just as Jesus did for us when we were
lost. He befriended us at our lowest point. He even laid down His
life for us as a friend:
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man
lay down his life for His friends.
14 Ye are my
friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
So, is Jesus a friend of sinners? The answer is Yes. Just as He
befriended you. We show ourselves as His Friend by obeying and following Him because
we Believe. It is our Faith that shows our friendship with God through Jesus:
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith,
Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him
for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of
Friendship with God Note: Just after the
Lord’s Prayer in the Book of Luke, Jesus shares an
interesting analogy that I would truly like to share with you:
5 And he said unto them,
Which of you shall have a
friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say
unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;
6 For a friend
of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have
nothing to set before him?
7 And he from within shall
answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now
shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot
rise and give thee.
8 I say unto you, Though he will
not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet
because of his importunity he will rise and give him
as many as he needeth.
After this a Friend of God Bible verse analogy, then Jesus said ...
9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you;
seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be
opened unto you.
10 For every one that asketh receiveth;
and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that
knocketh it shall be opened.
11 If a son shall ask
bread of any of you that is a father, will he give
him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish
give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will
he offer him a scorpion?
13 If ye then, being evil,
know how to give good gifts unto your children: how
much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy
Spirit to them that ask Him?
In this I am a Friend of God Bible verse, Jesus
is saying that the relationship that we have between us and
our Heavenly Father is better than that of a friend and
better than that of a family member.
HE is always there for us. 24/7 in this God is my friend scenario ...
I am a Friend of God Bible verse trivia on the friendship with God
topic. Are you a friend to God? Is it a one or two way friendship
you have with Jesus? Are you willing to do anything For Him as He
would and did for you? Are you always there for Him as He is you? Or
do you allow the world to come between you and your Friend?
For one to say, God is my friend, it is obvious that overcoming
the world is the hardest part of our relationship with our Lord.
Kinda like when the moon asked the sun
Why is it that I oft
times sit in darkness? ... The sun responded,

you let the world came between us.
