Christian Saints - Biblical Saints in the Bible Quest
What are Saints of the Bible Blessings
What is the definition of a Saint?
- One officially recognized as preeminent for holiness esp.
through canonization.
- One of God's chosen people.
- One belonging to the Body of Christ.
What does canonization mean?
Canonization is the act by which a particular Christian church or
group declares a deceased person to be a Saint and is included in the
canon, or list, of recognized Saints. Originally, individuals were
recognized as Saints without any formal process.

What are Saints of the Bible Promises
The Truth is ...
The act of canonization can never magically make someone become a
Saint, but is merely a verbal or written acknowledgment that the
person is deemed as a Saint to said Religious individual or group.
Obviously, a Saint was appointed to be a Saint by God, even before the canonization process. Many Christians believe that only certain Christians can become a Saint or that a Christian must have died to become a Saint. But, is this Truth? There is Scripture that reveals that Christians who passed from this realm to the next (died) were called Saints:
Matthew 27:52-53
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the
Saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after His resurrection, and
went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
There is also Scripture that does call those that come back with the
Lord from Heaven ... "Saints."
1 Thessalonians 3:13
To the end He may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before
God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with
all His Saints.
Jude 1:14-15
14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of
these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of His
Saints,
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that
are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have
ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly
sinners have spoken against Him.

What are Saints of the Bible Doing Now
But, the Bible also has many more Scriptures that reveal that living
Christians are also called ... Saints.
1 Samuel 2:9
He will keep the feet of His Saints, and the wicked shall be silent
in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.
Psalms 34:9
O fear the Lord, ye His Saints: for there is no want to them that
fear Him.
Psalms 37:28
For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not His Saints; they are
preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
Acts 9:13-14
Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how
much evil he hath done to thy Saints at Jerusalem: And here he hath
authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

What are Saints of the Bible Here to Do
The Holy Spirit
makes intercession for these Saints.
Romans 8:27
And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the
Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the Saints according to
the will of God.
The Bible also reveals that Antichrist will make war with Saints.
Revelation 13:7
And it was given unto him (Antichrist) to make war with the Saints,
and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and
tongues, and nations.
This was also prophesied by Daniel:
Daniel 7:21-22
I beheld, and the same horn made war with the Saints, and prevailed
against them; Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given
to the Saints of the most High; and the time came that the Saints
possessed the kingdom.
Daniel 7:25
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear
out the Saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws:
and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the
dividing of time.
Daniel 7:27
And the Kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the Kingdom under
the whole Heaven, shall be given to the people of the Saints of the
most High, whose Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom, and all dominions
shall serve and obey Him.
These Christian Saints will inherit an everlasting Kingdom and will also judge
the world.
1 Corinthians 6:1-2
1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to
law before the unjust, and not before the Saints?
2 Do ye not know that the Saints shall judge the world?
and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the
smallest matters?
So, despite what one believes the definition of a Biblical Saint to be, one
thing is for sure:
Psalms 116:15
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints.

What are Saints of the Bible to God
Many Apostles and people from the Bible are commonly known as Christian Saints and/or Biblical Saints,
for example:
- St. Peter
- St. Paul
- St. David
- St. Joseph
- St. Mark
- St. Mary Magdalene
- St. Matthew
- St. Luke
- St. John
- St. Mary
Some well known Saints that haven't been mentioned above:
- St. Francis of Assisi
- St. Valentine
- St. Patrick
- St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
- St. Nick
- St. Ignatius
There are a lot of people that pray to Mary and through some past
Saints. The problem is that not only does the Bible not say anything
about praying to her or through any Saint, but says just the
opposite. There are a lot of people who were raised, believing that
it's proper to ask a dead Saint for intercession for them.
Some people think if you ask St. Christopher to talk to God, you'll
be protected when you travel.
Some people think if you bury a statue of St. Joseph in your front
yard when your house is for sale, St. Joseph will ask God to make the
house sell faster.
Some people believe that if you lose something and you ask St. Jude
to have a word with God, you'll find whatever it is you lost.
Some people think that if you say Hail Mary multiple times, that your
prayer will be answered, and then you have to tell 9 friends about it
or all deals are off.

What are Saints of the Bible Calling
Maybe you were taught this way of praying and never questioned it,
but we are taught to prove all things.
So let's do a little Saints of the Bible study, probing for proof, shall we? The Bible teaches us to pray in the name of Jesus.
John 14:13-14
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that
will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
The Bible is very clear that Jesus is the mediator between us and God
and that nobody gets through to the Father without going through
Jesus.

What Are Saints of the Bible Gifts
Remember ...
1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God, and One mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus;
Jesus is the only mediator between man and God.
John 10:9
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall
go in and out, and find pasture.
You must enter in the Jesus door to get to God.
John 16:23-25
23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily,
verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my
name, He will give it you.
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye
shall receive, that your joy may be full.
25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but
the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but
I shall shew you plainly of the Father
So, we are to pray ... To
God through
Jesus by the
Holy Spirit.
Again ... The Holy Spirit (who is truly God's Spirit) talks with our
own spirit and shares with God the things that we pray for.
Romans 8:26-27
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:
for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit
itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be
uttered.
27 And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the
mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints
according to the will of God.
Christian Saints / Biblical Saints in the Bible Summary
What Are Saints of the Bible Conclusion
Ponder on this Truth ...
Why would anyone have you pray through them instead of Jesus, as it
is written to do?
Would this not hinder the prayer?
Has Mary or any prophet, Apostle or Christian that you've ever read
about in the Bible ever suggested that you pray to or through
themselves to God?
The entire Christian way is based on humility. If you still have your
nose turned up because of the way you were taught, there's always one
thing you can do ... Pray about it!
Just make sure you do it in the Name of Jesus.
