There is a cartoon which depicts a lost and confused character asking another cartoon character which way another cartoon character went. In the cartoon, the first character asks, Which way did they go George? In like manner ... When a loved one passes on, we Christians seem to become very lost and confused and begin to wonder and even worry about what happens to the soul when you die and which way our loved one went. We want to know where does the soul go when you die?
We, as Christians have been taught very well where the soul goes when you die, when you are a true Christian and knowing this Truth should bring peace and joy, not a feeling of being lost and confused asking ourselves. But, we cannot help but wonder in some cases what happens to the soul when you die and ask ...
Which Way Did They Go George?
You know, it seems that once a week or so, we receive a letter from a soul who has lost a loved one to what they call death. They ask the same two questions every time. What happens to the soul when you die and where does the soul go when you die. They may even subconsciously know the answer, but the fears and tears overwhelm them and they become lost in mind and heart. But, those of us who know Truth, know that those who were Christians and passed from this realm to the next, are alive ... More alive than you and I are at this time, in truth.
How would you respond to a soul who came to you and said that they had a loved one die? How would you bring them peace to mind and heart? How would you respond to the question, What happens to the soul when you die and where does the soul go when you die? Ponder on that a bit. Many choose to share this Scripture:
1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart:
and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous
is taken away from the evil to come.
2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their
beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
Wow, what does that mean? It means that many do not consider why a soul was taken away. This particular possibility is that God took them away before a terrible event that was going to occur in their lives. Just as He does for Christians just before horrible tribulations during the End Times by way of the Rapture.
If the soul was a Christian, the Bible is clear what we are to do and say.
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep [passed from this realm to the next], that ye sorrow not, even as the others which have no hope.

So, the Apostle Paul is saying that he wants us to understand that we are not to be sorrowful when a Christian passes from this realm to the next like some folks do who do not have the hope which Christians who do know Truth do possess. Paul continues:
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even
so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.
15 For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord,
that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall
not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from Heaven with a
shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up
together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

He explains what happens to the soul when you die and even answers the question of where does the soul go when you die. He said that the Christian believers who "died" will rise and be gathered with those raptured (during the End Times) to meet Jesus in the air.
Whoa, wait a minute. Best take a Which Way Did They Go George field trip to answer this next Bible trivia question ... If these souls who passed from this realm to the next (died) are not taken immediately to Heaven at the time they passed on, where does the soul go when you die? Buckle up my friend:
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep,
but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last
trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this
mortal must put on immortality.
Here again, we read that the souls who have passed on from this realm to the next are rising and receiving immortality, but it is the timing that is of particular interest to us right now. It says that they rise (go to Heaven) ... At the Last Trump.
Again ... The Last Trump (Trumpet) is a reference to an event that takes place during the End Times, so where does the soul go when you die and what happened to the soul when you die?

Despite what some believe ... The Bible is clear that when a Christian soul passes from this realm to the next, they do not immediately ascend to Heaven, but rather go to a Promised Paradise until they rise and are gathered together with the Raptured in the air to meet Jesus.
The final thing Paul shares on this matter at the time are these words:
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

So again, according to the Word of the Lord ... How are we supposed to respond to a soul who came to us and said that they had a loved one die? We are to share this Truth that Paul has just shared with those who have a loved one who is Christian, pass from this realm to the next. It is written:
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints.
Now, here is a really tough, Which way did they go question ... What if you were told that the loved one was not a Christian? Then, what do you say? Quite a head scratcher, is it not?
The first thing to do is to remember the Truth that even if the family and friends close to them thought they were not a Christian, does not mean they were not within. There are many souls who have a personal relationship with Jesus and are not as vocal as other Christians. Still other souls may have been in the very early stages of the Christian walk when God in His infinite Wisdom chose to take them from this realm to the next.
Here is Wisdom ... Beware the souls who know the truth and yet are too busy condemning those who are not yet at the "level" of Christianity that these holier than thou wannabes believe themselves to be. Beware passing judgment on his children. The Bible is quite clear on this matter ... Judge not lest ye be judged.
That being said, what if the person who came to us as to share their grief of a lost one shares that the loved one committed suicide and they want to know what happens to the soul when you die and where does the soul go when you die if the soul chose to commit suicide. You can imagine that this hurting person is very concerned because they were told by some of those wanna be judges that those who commit suicide could not go to Heaven?
The question is ... Does suicide guarantee a definite sentence of eternal damnation in hell then the Lake of Fire? Let's get a visual of this eternal sentence, shall we?
Never condemn someone with your words lest you may find yourself being sentenced. We must beware condemning any soul for any sin to Hell. We just do not know all the facts or Spiritual matters involved. Let us take suicide as an example. If all who committed suicide are sentenced to Hell, Samson is in Hell. Now, come on, we both know he is not. But, according to a one size fits all rule. He is there. Nonsense !!!

God knew Samson was going to commit suicide and gave him the power to do so.
28 And Samson called unto the Lord, and said, O Lord God,
remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this
once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my
two eyes.
29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon
which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with
his right hand, and of the other with his left.
30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And
he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the
Lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which
he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.
How about a Mom who had her 3 year old shot in a drive-by and in a moment of grief shot herself? Even your courts offer Grace for murders committed when the soul was blinded by emotion and temporary insanity. She going to hell too?
Which Way Did They Go George Trivia Time ... Are man's world courts a more fair judgment than God's judgment? I think not. What do you think? How about all those soldiers who sacrifice themselves for their buddies knowing they would die? They going to hell for such an act of Love? At what point do we as humans get to determine what suicide acts should or should not be punishable with the Lake of Fire?

We cannot condemn another soul when we know not the heart of the matter. Consider Job's friends ... We do not want to go around throwing our opinions at the innocent. It may be that we need to beg them to pray for us afterward.
Which Way Did They Go Important Notice: For those contemplating suicide or saying to themselves "Yahooooooo this preacher sounding guy said it was okay to quit the game and commit suicide." Uhhhhhhhhh, best get them Spiritual glasses fixed. I would never be in harmony with choosing possible eternal pain and anguish as to escape from a temporal problem. No, I said the judgment was between God and man.
Is suicide a sin, in some cases ... Maybe. Do I believe that many souls are in hell who committed suicide ... Maybe. But, I am saying that God is the only one who can judge a man's heart. And one shoe can never fit all feet. No one law can ever apply to all situations. There are too many strange stories in the Bible not to comprehend this Truth.
I have heard some say ... Whether a man or woman steals a loaf of bread to prove he/she could do so or if another man or woman stole a loaf of bread to feed his/her starving child after asking for it and was told no ... That God considers both a thief. That a law is a law. I believe that wanna be judge has never heard the screams of a starving infant or watched the tears pour down the little cheeks of a hungry child or felt the pain of the parent being unable to do anything about it. so they stole the bread. For shame !!!

I tell you a Truth my friend. I am SO glad those people ain't my judge. Myself ... I believe that at Judgment Day our Father will ask the Bread shop owner or any of the wanna be judges seeking to con-demn this soul, why they chose not to share a lousy piece of bread with the poor man's starving child as compared to judging and sentencing the man or woman.
No my friend, God judges the heart of every matter in a fair and balanced Spiritual manner. Just read what Jesus has shared in the Gospels and you will know this to be Truth. It is kind of simple you know, when you are representing yourself as being God's Word to God's children ... Pretend the child of God is your own. Because, if the Words you are sharing are His Words, it is He speaking and therefore, they are your child. If that does not reach your heart, consider this ... Judging another may have you and/or yours suffer the same judgment:
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and
with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
