First Chronicles in the Bible Stories

Our 1 Chronicles Bible study basically covers the same period of Jewish history described in the Second Book of Samuel through the Second book of the Kings. First Chronicles in the Bible and the Second Book of the Chronicles were originally one continuous writing, but then the First Book of the Chronicles in the Bible and the Second Book of the Chronicles were divided into two parts in the third century B.C.

At that time the the First Book of the Chronicles in the Bible and the Second Book of the Chronicles together was named Paraleipmenon, which means, "Of Things Omitted," referring to the things omitted from Samuel and Kings. Many believe that Ezra wrote the First Book of the Chronicles and the Second Book of the Chronicles.

The 1 Chronicles Bible study has some very interesting information within about events that took place during this time in Jewish history. The First Book of the Chronicles looks into the period of time from Adam to King David's death.
