Biblical Endurance in the Bible Quest
Glad to have you back again for more Daily Bread. When we studied
Chapter 1 of this letter from Paul to the Hebrews, Paul explained
that Jesus was above Angels. Did the Hebrews believe in Angels?
Absolutely. Many times in the Old Testament, messages of God were
sent by an Angel of the Lord:

It's clear that the Jewish people are well versed in the scripture of
the Old Testament, so Paul uses that to further confirm that Jesus
really was who He said He was. Paul explains, that if you believe
what the Angels of the Lord said was Truth, and Jesus is above
angels, then, how can there be any doubt about Jesus' Word?
In short, Paul asks the Hebrews:
If you believe in the things the Angels said and every sin gets it's
fair penalty, how do you expect to be pardoned if you don't believe
in the Grace that
the Lord spoke of through the Angels, then performed through Christ,
and then confirmed through the Holy Spirit?
God hasn't put the Angels in power over the new world to come that we
are talking about. But David testified, saying:
Psalms 8:4-6
4 What is man, that thou art mindful [you think of] of
him? and the son of man, that thou visitest [care for] him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the Angels,
and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him [mankind] to have dominion [to rule]
over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

Biblical Endurance in the Bible Meaning
This is the scripture David was talking about:
Genesis 1:28
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and
multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over
every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
So, there we were (humankind) ... And God gave us dominion over every
living thing on earth. But we (humans) have a difficult time with
self-control, let alone ruling every living thing on earth.
Hebrews 2:9-10 Good News Translation
9 But we do see Jesus, who for a little while was made
lower than the Angels, so that through God's grace He should die for
everyone. We see Him now crowned with glory and honor because of the
death He suffered [for us].
10 It was only right that God, who creates and preserves
all things, should make Jesus perfect through suffering, in order to
bring many children [us!] to share His glory. For Jesus is the one
who leads them to salvation.
Hebrews 2:11 The Living Bible
11We who have been made holy by Jesus, now have the same
Father he has. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call us his
brothers.
Psalms 22:22
I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the
congregation will I praise thee.
And again,
Psalms 18:2
... my God, my strength, in whom I will trust ...
And again,
Isaiah 8:18
Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me ...

Biblical Endurance in the Bible Secret
Maybe Paul is pointing out to the Hebrews that there's a difference
between quoting scripture, and fulfilling prophecy. Jesus wasn't just
a copycat, He didn't just quote scripture, and He wasn't just a
prophet. He was the fulfillment of the prophecy that was
spoken of in these scriptures.
Since God's children are flesh and blood, Jesus also became flesh and
blood because only as a human being could he die and in dying break
the power of the devil who
had the power of death. In this way He set free those who were slaves
all their lives because of their Fear of
Death.

Next Paul shows how the role of the high priest, and the procedure of
making reconciliation for the people was really a shadow
of what Jesus really did.
Hebrews 2:16-18 The Living Bible
16 We all know he did not come as an Angel but as a human
being - yes, a Jew.
17 And it was necessary for Jesus to be like us, his
brothers, so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest
before God, a Priest who would be both merciful to us and faithful to
God in dealing with the sins [reconciliation] of the people.
18 For since He Himself has now been through suffering and
temptation, he knows what it is like when we suffer and are tempted,
and he is wonderfully able to help us.
Christian Endurance Bible Study Summary
Biblical Endurance in the Bible End
In the Old Testament, the high priest was the one who made
reconciliation for the sins of the people. So, Jesus was both, the
high priest and the sacrifice. Also, remember that the more special
and pure something was, the better sacrifice it was. If you read the
Old Testament, generally, sacrifices were male unblemished firstling
lambs. Jesus was without sin. He was pure and unblemished, even
though He suffered temptation as we do. He was the only perfect human
being there ever was. And remaining perfect through suffering and
temptation, He was the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind.
