THE BOOK OF NEHEMIAH IN THE BIBLE DISCUSSION
Certain books of the Old Testament are books of
prophecy, and others are books of history. The Book of
Nehemiah is the last of the books of chronological
history of the Old Testament.
In the book of Nehemiah in the Bible, he describes the
events that took place as the Hebrews re-settle in
Israel after the Babylonian captivity, in particular,
relating to us the events of the rebuilding of the
wall of Jerusalem.
The book of Nehemiah Bible book has Nehemiah who was a cupbearer to
Artaxerxes, the king of Persia, receives word of the
oppressed condition, not only of the land of Israel,
but of the countenance of the people who had returned
from the captivity, so he petitions the mercy of God,
and also permission from Artaxerxes to go to Israel to
restore his native land.
The Book of Nehemiah in the Bible is a touching account of his heartfelt compassion for his
peoples' welfare and his efforts to help them regain
self-respect in their native Promised Land.
