FIRST MIRACLE STORY
BIBLICAL MIRACLE BY JESUS
As Jesus traveled to Galilee, there was a wedding
feast there in a city called Cana. Mary, the mother of Jesus was there
and Jesus and His disciples were invited. When they wanted wine, Mary
said to Jesus, They have no wine.
Jesus said to her, Woman, what have I to do with
thee? My time has not yet come. Mary then told the servants to do
whatever Jesus said.
There were six stone water pots there. The Jews used
to use these water pots for purifying, and each one held 18 to 27
gallons. Jesus said, Fill the water pots with water, so the servants
filled them to the brim. Jesus turned the water into wine, then He
told them to take some out and give it to the governor of the feast.
They served the wine to the ruler of the feast and
when he tasted it, he didn't know where it came from. He called the
bridegroom and said, Every man, at the beginning of a feast, serves
the good wine first. And once men have drank plenty, then they serve
the wine that's not as good. (Meaning the people that were drinking
would be so drunk they wouldn't notice the lower quality wine) But
you've kept the better wine until now!
This was the beginning of miracles that Jesus did in
Cana of Galilee, and revealed His magnificence, and His disciples
believed in Him.
WHAT WAS THE FIRST BIBLICAL MIRACLE DONE BY JESUS?
THE FIRST MIRACLE OF JESUS CHRIST WAS TURNING WATER TO WINE.
Jesus went all around Galilee, teaching in their
synagogues and preaching the news of God's Kingdom. He healed people
that had all kinds of sickness and disease.
His fame spread throughout all Syria and people
brought their loved ones to Him. They brought people who had different
diseases and ailments, people who were possessed with devils,
lunatics, and people who were paralyzed, and Jesus healed them.
Why do they call people who appear to be insane a
"lunatic?" Well, actually the word lunar means something
that relates to the moon, and it was once believed that insanity
fluctuated with the phases of the moon.
These illnesses that Jesus healed weren't your
common cold or minor maladies that people can go to the family doctor
for or recover from with a little bit of bed rest. These were
miracles. The blind could see, the deaf could hear, the crippled could
walk! Ancient medicine as well as modern medicine can only describe it
one way ... they were miracles!
Multitudes of people followed Jesus from Galilee,
Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and from beyond Jordan.
