A pleasure to have you back to share our Tell me the story of Jesus journey ... Let’s look at a short little story that Jesus told His disciples about His lost souls within our Lost then Found Bible voyage. Who is considered a "lost" sheep within the lost and found story? Well, it is one who wanders away from the fold and would become lost. The fold would be their faith in Christ. Now, this covers a lot of territory. People who compromise their Christian morals because of one reason or another are lost, or on the path to being the lost.
We're not talking about sin that you recognize, and repent for before it
continues, we're talking about when you're comfortable with your sin,
and you don't regard it as sin anymore. This doesn't have to be physical
sin either, like stealing or cheating or lying.
This can be anger,
hatred, neglect, greed, etc. There are also those who have never
known Christ, so they are the lost. There are also those
who flagrantly deny Jesus. They are definitely lost.
Fret not. There is Salvation in the Lost then Found Bible Scripture ... Now, just because they are lost, does that mean they aren't God's sheep any longer? Certainly not! When children are
kidnapped, do the parents suddenly disown them? Absolutely not! They do
everything in their power to find them. They spend all
their efforts on finding them. Okay, now consider this. We are all God's
children (sheep).
Back to our Lost Then Found Bible events that occurred in the lost and found story ... Jesus said to His disciples, I came to
save those who are lost. What do you think about this? If a man has a
hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, doesn't he leave the ninety
nine others and go into the mountains to look for the one that went
astray? When he finds it, I assure you, he rejoices more about finding
that one sheep than about the ninety nine that weren't lost. Your Father
in Heaven feels the same about any of His children that are lost.
That's exactly what happens when Satan kidnaps one of God's sheep.
And you know that the more precious the
sheep is, the more Satan wants to steal it. That means that the closer
you get to God, the more Satan's gonna try and lure you away. He'll put
more bad thoughts into your mind, more doubt, through television, what
you read, on billboards, in the music you listen to, etc. He'll play on
your weaknesses and offer more accessibility to temptation of every
kind.
The truth within the lost and found story shows us that the enemy of your soul wants your soul. He's the big bad wolf stealing sheep. Be alert. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 5:8
Know his traps. They'll always look like a big green grassy
pasture, but guess what. It's a trick.
Satan is very crafty and he will always
make it look like it is the right path to take. If you find yourself
laughing at the other sheep as you wander away, you can bet that you've
taken a wrong turn. Get back home, fast, before you're so far away that
you need to be rescued by someone else.
It is time for the Lost Then Found Bible trivia on the lost and found story ... So, what if you see one of God's lost sheep, what do you do? Keep in mind that this isn't a matter of picking up a soft
little fleecy white sheep, throwing it over your shoulders and carrying
it back to it's home. The lost are usually lost of their own choice and
what they really want is a reason to choose to come back because Satan
made something look better than what they had.
They just don't know that
it's all smoke and mirrors and that home sweet home with their Father is
the only place to be. You can provide that reason to come home.
First of all, pray for guidance from
the Holy Spirit.
Don't be afraid. Be sincere. You're helping them, because it's your responsibility
Ezekiel 33:6. Every situation
will be different.
We have grasped from our Lost Then Found Bible adventure that one should think about what it was that took them from being lost
to being back in the fold. Chances are, you won't be able to walk up to
someone and say God loves you, and convert them on the
spot, but think about what they're going through and look for avenues to
reach in and touch them in a way that Satan couldn't possibly contend
with.
The Lost Then Found Bible passages suggest that we are to ask God to place HIS Words in our mind and heart. Remember, Jesus told us, Take no thought how or what you shall speak, for it shall be
given you in that same hour what you shall speak. For it is not you that
speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you (Matthew
10:19-20).
The lost and found story shows us that helping the lost sheep is a very
sensitive and important part of Christianity. I pray that the Holy Spirit will always be with you in your search of bringing the lost sheep of the Lord back to His fold. Jesus said that was the reason He came
here. What a wonderful example for us to follow.
