WHO IS JESUS' BRIDE THE BRIDE OF JESUS CHRIST TRUTH
We learned on
the last page about Soul mates and destiny and that if one's
marriage is God's will, that we should do ANYTHING and
EVERYTHING to keep it together.
God compares
marriage to the union between the Lord and the Church.
Ephesians 5:23
For the husband is the head of the wife, even
as Christ is the head of the church: and He is the saviour
of the body.
(Body of Christ) |
Ever ponder on your wedding day?
Whether it has occurred or is
yet to be.
What a special event you
want/wanted it to be?
Remember that you planned your wedding since you were a
child?
Looking at wedding dresses, thinking
that they were the most beautiful articles clothing you had
ever seen and you couldn't wait to have a reason to try one
on or buy one?
Thinking of who would be your bridesmaids at each stage of your
life as your friends changed?
Going to weddings and taking mental notes of what you wanted
and didn’t want from the wedding you were observing?
Weighing the pros and cons of a big wedding verses a small
wedding, a big bridal shower verses a small one, a flower
girl or no flower girl, where to register, save the date notices, evening or afternoon wedding,
colors of the wedding, food served at the reception, etc.
It has/had to be picture perfect.
Can any wedding be picture perfect?
Can any MARRIAGE be
picture perfect?
What if there was one marriage that WAS picture perfect?
Wouldn’t we be taking notes? Wanting to find out how we can
make OUR marriage just like that one?
JESUS' BRIDE PROMISE THE BRIDE OF JESUS CHRIST PROPHECY
We are going to peek in on a wedding in preparation
...
THE WEDDING OF JESUS
Revelation 19:7-9
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the
Marriage of the Lamb is come, and
His
wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that
she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for
the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith
unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the
marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are
the true sayings of God.
|
What?
The Lamb ... Meaning Jesus, has a wife?
ABSOLUTELY
But, who is the soon-to-be “wife?”
Great question.
The answer is ... Christians
The
Body of Christ.
The
Church.
So,
when you became a Christian ... You became ENGAGED to Jesus.
Let’s read a little more about what to expect ...
Do you
remember when we spoke of restoring the FIRST LOVE in your
marriage?
The
Bible speaks of us losing our first love for the Lord.
Revelation 2:1-7
Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These
things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his
right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven
golden candlesticks; I know thy works, and thy labour,
and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them
which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say
they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them
liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my
name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because
thou hast left thy FIRST LOVE. Remember therefore from
whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the FIRST
WORKS; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will
remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou
repent.
But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the
Nicolaitanes, which I also hate. He that hath an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;
To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree
of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
|
We are
to re-establish our FIRST LOVE for the Lord.
That fiery passion that we had
at first.
Lest
we lose Him ...
YOU ARE JESUS' BRIDE THE BRIDE OF JESUS CHRIST EXPLAINED
What did the Lord mean when He said ...
"Do the first works"
...
What
are some of the first works (Things that you used to do or
should be doing) for the
Lord, that you do not do now?
What things have you
not done recently for your
Lord that you used to do or should do to remind them that
you love Him and care for Him?
Some suggestions would be:
Pray
Read the Bible
Do a Bible study together
Volunteer at church
Volunteer at a charity or homeless shelter
Read a spiritual book
Listen to some Christian music, concentrating on the
words.
Spend time alone with the Holy Spirit.
Attend a Bible study or other church function.
Sing a hymn - singing comes from the spirit.
Light a candle. (Fire is a symbol of the Holy
Spirit.)
Spend 5 minutes
praising God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
Helping others as the Lord asks of us.
Write a psalm to God. |
I mean
after all, you and the Lord are to be ... Married.
Sooooooo, you really wanna show your LOVE
for Him.
Check out this study to learn
more.
What are you doing to prepare for Jesus?
What did you do to prepare when you married your spouse?
After you married, what have you done?
What SHOULD you do?
I mean ... The LORD did compare our
earthly marriages to His own.
Ephesians 5:23
For the husband is the head of the wife, even
as Christ is the head of the church: and He is the saviour
of the body.
(Body of Christ) |
JESUS' BRIDE MYSTERY THE BRIDE OF JESUS CHRIST CLUES
So, we must do within our marriage as we would with our marriage
to HIM.
Let's
tear apart the "duties" a little more and see what the Bible
has to say.
A note to the wives:
Wives, submit yourselves unto your won husbands, as unto the
Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as
Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of
the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so
let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
The wife submits to the husband and the husband serves his
wife just as Christ served the church. Remember how Christ
served? He died. He sacrificed everything.
A husband should be willing to sacrifice everything for his
wife, care for and protect her. A wife should WANT to submit
to a husband that acts like Christ does. |
A note to the husbands:
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the
church, and gave Himself for it; That He might sanctify and
cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word, That He
might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having
spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be
holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives
as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and
cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
For we are
members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and
shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one
flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning
Christ and the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in
particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife
see that she reverence her husband. |
This passage
compares how we act toward God, and our
spouses.
Interesting.
If you were to diagram your marriage, in what ways would it
line up with the picture that the apostle Paul painted of unity,
love, respect and honor?
In what ways would it need to change?
Are you willing to make those changes, as the Lord requests
that we do?
What if Christ were to base his Church on the way you and
your spouse love
each other?
Would it be a Church you’d want to be a part of?
Why or why not?
CHRISTIANS ARE JESUS' BRIDE THE BRIDE OF JESUS CHRIST BLESSING
Here’s another passage that reminds us of what we just read.
1 Peter 3:1-7
Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands;
that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the
word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they
behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose
adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the
hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is
not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet
spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For
after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who
trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto
their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him
lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are
not afraid with any amazement. |
These verses seem pretty cut and dried
as to how a husband and
wife should act towards each other. It's up to us to CHOOSE to
act that way that GOD intended instead of kicking our feet in the dirt and
arguing.
This is NOT a slave/master relationship.
Remember ... Same
team.
Have you ever imagined what a marriage could be like ... IF God were
involved?
If we were to act and react to our spouse, the way that Jesus (our
Betrothed) has acted towards us.
We get so caught up on this physical world, that we seem to
fail to include the Lord in our earthly marriages. This world WILL
come to end. Our marriages will end.
Our spouses
could die, leave us, abuse us ... Nothing is promised to us.
As we have learned ...
We came into this world alone, and will leave this world
alone ... Everything is in between is rented.
Though in physical marriages, our physical bodies belong to
our spouses:
1 Corinthians 7:4
The wife hath not power of her own body, but the
husband: and likewise also the husband hath not
power of his own body, but the wife. |
Our
SOULS belong to God.
1 Corinthians 6:19
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of
the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of
God, and ye are not your own? |
BY GRACE WE ARE JESUS' BRIDE THE BRIDE OF JESUS CHRIST HOPE
Shouldn’t we get closer to the one that holds our soul? The one that
holds our ETERNAL future? He can guide our physical marriage so much better than we
can on our own. He can BLESS our marriage. Without HIS
blessing, it's bound to fall apart and leave us alone once again.
But, IF we CHOOSE to keep our eyes and hearts on the REAL marriage ... The marriage between us and Jesus and use this as a basis for
our earthly Marriage.
We CAN overcome.
That event is something that will NEVER perish ...
There is no “Til Death Do Us Part” with Jesus.
Jesus will never “cheat” on us.
He will never leave us.
He
will never attempt to make us jealous.
He will never take
advantage of us.
He will never hurt us.
He will never call
us names.
He will never allow us to feel lonely.
His Love for us in UNCONDITIONAL.
A Love that we DEFINITELY
need.
What if the Lord is watching us in our own earthly marriage
as to determine how we will act and react with Him in our marriage to Him?
How can we
truly understand and know how to Love our earthly spouse, if we don’t allow
ourselves to be Loved by the PERFECT One that already died
for us ... The One that we are already betrothed to and apply
that to our earthly marriage?
Don’t we wish
that we could love and that our earthly spouse would love us with the love
that Jesus has for us?
UNCONDITIONAL
LOVE !!!
To
fully understand the Love that He has for us and apply it in
our marriage?
Our lives would be SO different IF we got just a tiny glimpse of it
and applied this TRUE LOVE in our own earthly marriage.
But, we DO comprehend this LOVE?
A LOVE so deep,
that had our
LORD die for us.
Has anyone else ever died for you?
Hung by nails
holding up the weight of their
body, spit upon, mocked, stabbed, beaten ... Because of their
LOVE for us?
Maybe our views on Love would change ... If we were able to
FEEL His Love for us.
"Love Song For A Savior"
In open fields of wild flowers,
she breathes the air and flies away
She thanks her Jesus for the daises and the roses
in no simple language
Someday she'll understand the meaning of it all
He's more than the laughter or the stars in the heavens
As close a heartbeat or a song on her lips
Someday she'll trust Him and learn how to see Him
Someday He'll call her and she will come running
and fall in His arms and the tears will fall down and she'll
pray,
"I want to fall in love with You”
"I want to fall in love with You”
"I want to fall in love with You”
"I want to fall in love with You”
Sitting silent wearing Sunday best
The sermon echoes through the walls
A great salvation through it calls to the people
who stare into nowhere, and can't feel the chains on their
souls
He's more than the laughter or the stars in the heavens
As close a heartbeat or a song on our lips
Someday we'll trust Him and learn how to see Him
Someday He'll call us and we will come running
and fall in His arms and the tears will fall down and we'll
pray,
"I want to fall in love with You"
"I want to fall in love with You”
"I want to fall in love with You”
"I want to fall in love with You”
It seems too easy to call you "Savior,"
Not close enough to call you "God"
So as I sit and think of words I can mention
to show my devotion
"I want to fall in love with You"
"My heart beats for You" |
JESUS' BRIDE SHOWS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE THE BRIDE OF JESUS CHRIST SHOULD BE PATIENT
What would happen to your marriage if you and your
spouse/future spouse went ALL OUT for each other?
Complete
Unconditional Love ...
Thinking only
about how to please one another and God.
Caring
nothing about what the worldly trends are.
Working on the SAME TEAM.
Can you imagine what that marriage would be like?
It would be a very RIGHTEOUS Christian
marriage.
The way that God intended marriage to be like.
Not two
people living two separate lives occasionally giving each
other a kiss ... But rather two people, becoming ONE, on the same
team ... Living only for each other and for God.
In the movie "Shall We Dance" ... One of the characters
reflects on marriage ...
“All these promises that we make and we break ... Why is it
that you think people get married? Because we need a witness
to our lives. There's a billion people on the planet, I mean
what does any one life really mean? But in a marriage,
you're promising to care about everything ... The good things,
the bad things, the terrible things, the mundane
things ... All of it, all the time, every day. You're
saying ... Your life will not go unnoticed because I will
notice it. Your life will not go unwitnessed, because I will
be your witness.” |
SAME TEAM !!!
Do YOU have Unconditional Love in your marriage?
Physical marriage is only until Til
Do Us Part ... But the Marriage with Jesus will last ETERNALLY.
I would like
for you to consider something ...
The Israelites had a custom where if a
man was married to a woman, and the man died the brother of the man would
marry the woman.
Deuteronomy 25:5
If brethren dwell together, and one of them die,
and have no child,
the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a
stranger:
her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him
to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her. |
JESUS' BRIDE SUMMARY THE BRIDE OF JESUS CHRIST CONCLUSION
So these Religious leaders, trying to trick Jesus, came
and asked of Him ... Who would be the husband of the woman in Heaven if
she married several times according to Jewish custom.
Matthew
22:23-30
The same day
came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no
resurrection, and asked him, Saying, Master, Moses said, If a
man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife,
and raise up seed unto his brother. Now there were with us seven
brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased,
and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother: Likewise
the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. And last of
all the woman died also. Therefore in the resurrection whose
wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
Jesus
answered and said unto them,
Ye do err, not knowing the
scriptures ,
nor the power of God. For in the
resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage,
but are as the angels of God in heaven. |
Jesus said that these Religious leaders
did not comprehend the Scriptures correctly ...
(Who would have
thought that could happen, huh?)
Jesus said when one soul of a married
couple dies ... The marriage ends.
Let that be the reason these words are
spoken ...
TIL DEATH DO US PART.
So, all of you who have this mental image
of showing up in Heaven and being reunited with your husband
or wife and the marriage continues in your lil house with a
white picket fence ...
JESUS MADE IT CLEAR ...
In Heaven there are no marriages.
We become as the Angels.
We become the BRIDE of Christ.
