VIRTUOUS WOMAN QUOTES

VIRTUOUS WOMAN QUOTES STUDY ON VIRTUOUS WOMAN QUOTES VERSES WITH VIRTUOUS WOMAN QUOTES MESSAGE

May I wish you a warm welcome back, and may God open your mind and heart for another awesome adventure in TRUTH!

You know without a doubt that a wholesome Christian lifestyle (your merchandise) is righteous. The world would have you think otherwise, but you know that walking the Christian walk is the only acceptable choice in your beloved Lord's eyes. Other peoples' opinions about the way you choose to serve the Lord, should not persuade you to consider anything else.

Isaiah 51:7
Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.
Ephesians 5:6-7
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

Proverbs 13:20
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

Right and wrong ... We all know the difference. And we all sometimes make excuses for the times we choose wrong. And then later we usually feel miserable about it. But when you do righteously, you know that unmistakable feeling of contentment with yourself that allows you to sleep good at night, is a really good feeling. A really good feeling!

Now, don't let's jump to conclusions here and surmise that anybody is saying that you need to abandon friends that you've had for umpteen years because you're trying to be virtuous and they're not. God wants everybody to seek the virtuous life, and you may be the tool He uses as an example to them. The important thing is that you are becoming a different person, and they're going to want to keep you involved in your old lifestyle, so by all means, pray that the Lord guides you and gives you the strength that we discussed in the last Step to persevere through all their influence. If you feel like you can't resist the temptation to fall into the same worldly habits that they will undoubtedly continue in your presence and encourage you with, then you will have to make a choice.

This endeavor is especially challenging with the members of one's own family in many cases. You will notice that in television shows and movies, the enthusiastic Christian in a family of unbelievers, or even in a family of believers (who lack enthusiasm) is targeted heavily. It's commonplace for people to think of anyone that chooses to put Jesus first in their life as an idiot, a moron, uneducated, naÔve, weak, worthless, and is usually treated like a black sheep ... How ironic. Well, GREAT! Because Jesus said to rejoice in such situations!

Matthew 5:10-12
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in Heaven: for so persecuted they the Prophets which were before you.

Onward Christian soldierettes!

VIRTUOUS WOMAN QUOTES TRUTH WITH VIRTUOUS WOMAN QUOTES BLESSING BRINGING VIRTUOUS WOMAN QUOTES HOPE

Now, the entire verse:

Proverbs 31 ... Verse 18
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

Let's look at this from a couple of different points of view. Is a virtuous woman superhuman, robotic and infallible? Absolutely not. You are human, like everyone else. You will, however, endure exhaustion until the small hours of the morning and rise before dawn for the benefit of your family when necessary. Remember that poem, The Invitation, when the author asked if you would be willing to endure a weary night of grief and despair until you are "bruised to the bone" but still be able to rise and shine in order to do whatever is necessary to feed the children? If there is something that is left undone, the hour will not detain you. You are not moved by fatigue. Your strength and your rest come from the Lord. You never give up.

Now, I know that a lot of you are a little too tough on yourselves, and I want you to have mercy on your own selves a little bit if you tend to be militant. If you need to get up in the middle of the night to tend to a loved one, and you yawn or drag the heels of your fuzzy slippers on your way down the hall while you rub the blur in your eyes from sleep away ... That doesn't mean that you're unwilling or inadequate. It's what's in your heart that counts. Anyone who is wakened abruptly is going to be a little bit foggy until you get your wits about you. If it is an emergency that requires you to be sharp and alert right from the moment you awake, just ask the Lord, and have faith that He will give you the strength to endure the crisis ... And He will assist you.

ANOTHER VIEW

She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

Another message in this verse may be that a virtuous woman doesn't change her ways just to fit in, or be accepted by this world. She is consistent. She doesn't put her virtues on hold temporarily because she is irritable, bored, anxious, insulted, wearied, nervous, tempted, weak, menstruating, ovulating, retaining water, or any other reason that human nature will use to try and quench her flame. She is a steady burning candle!

Matthew 25:1-13
Then shall the Kingdom of Heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

With every virtuous act you perform, you're putting a drop of oil in your vessel and lighting the way to your salvation, but with every un-virtuous act, oil is lost. Don't wait until it's too late to prepare yourself for your bridegroom. If today was the day He arrived to gather those who are ready to go with Him to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, would you be one of them, ready?

How can you better prepare? At any given time, with every choice that presents itself, ask yourself if you're doing the right thing. If you have a hard time discerning what the right thing is, ask the Holy Spirit. What Would Jesus Do? ... WWJD ... Is a fantastic question that someone decided to promote, and a lot of young Christians use it as a rule of thumb to help keep themselves righteous. Every time you choose right, you have fueled your lamp.

Search within your heart, listen to your conscience, follow your intuition ... These things are all the places where the Holy Spirit awaits you to confide in Him for guidance. Fire is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Light a candle and invite the Holy Spirit to lead you in times when you need a little extra insight about something.

Your righteousness is something that other people will admire and want to apply to their own lives when they see the positive results that it brings to your life. When people ask you for advice about something, always encourage them to "Do the right thing," and you will be glorifying God by doing so.

I'd like to address one other thing about this verse. The last part says, 'her candle goeth not out by night.' When you have a cold, the flu, or any other kind of illness, you know that you always feel worse at night. That's because the flesh, after a day of all the trials and tribulations of life, grows tired, and when you're ill, it has the added task of fighting a virus or infection all day, so it stands to reason that you would feel worse at night ... And the enemy knows that is an opportunity for him to invade too. In today's world, you're fighting off incredible amounts of evil and wickedness that the world offers almost every minute of the day, unless you're praying or reading the Bible, or doing some other kind of God business. If you're not with God, you're with the world. At any rate, at night, when your conscience and your subconscious mind have been bombarded with discerning good from evil all day, not only your flesh is weary, but your spirit may tend to get tired as well. You actually lose virtue or strength. You can learn more about this in the VIRTUE Study. Be especially aware of things that feed on your virtue when you're weak. Loneliness, depression, sadness, sexual desires, overeating or drinking ... These are all things that will attack more vigorously at night. Spiritually speaking, don't let your candle go out at night. Reinforce the TRUTH by confirming to yourself that the Lord is your strength and with Him you can conquer anything.

Have a plan of defense ready for times, especially at night, when you may become vulnerable to the temptations of the world. Have a Bible crossword puzzle book tucked away, specially for those times, or some special flavored tea and a new inspirational book. Maybe save a catalog with religious items to look through, or buy a little craft item to work on. Start a new hobby, especially if you have a lot of idle time. Needle arts, stained glass, painting, photography, there are lots of ways you can glorify God through a hobby. Having too much idle time is an invitation for trouble. You can fend off temptation easily if you have a strategy all ready and waiting. Be prepared.

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Now let's talk a little about our Virtuous Vitamin for today, shall we?

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE RIGHT ...
TO BE RIGHTEOUS

This is a hard concept to grasp ... Not only for women, but for all people, in general. We all have a tendency to believe that whatever WE think ... Is RIGHT. But how many times have you discovered later that you were ... Less than right (or wrong)? Isn't it more righteous to admit to being wrong, than to stand up for something you just impulsively blurted out ... When you really didn't know the TRUTH of the matter, but just THOUGHT you knew? Pride is an ugly thing. Pride can take the most virtuous of souls and twist and turn them to evil, for the sake of being RIGHT! UGH-LY! Admitting you're wrong, can be a truly virtuous act that you can accomplish easily, if you will just relinquish pride and let the TRUTH prevail!

Many, many times, we're all guilty of speaking out on a subject that we truly don't know the TRUTH about, but are just reciting something that we heard that sounded impressive to us at the time. Prove all things! Research! Be aware! Be alert! You are the mouthpiece of the Holy Spirit, so carefully analyze, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, all that you attest to. If you're one that will say things, oh, any old thing, just to hear yourself talk ... STOP ... Take a breath (or two, or ten) and ask yourself if you really know the TRUTH of what you're talking about, or if you just want credit for saying ... Something ... Anything.

MATURITY

Life is challenging, there's no doubt about it. Many people, when they become mature, on their birthday usually, reflect on the last year of their life, and when they conclude the progress they've made, they deduce that they know more now than they did a year ago. What if you did that every day instead of once a year?! Wouldn't you become a more righteous person a lot faster? And wouldn't God be proud!

2 Corinthians 3:5-5-6
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament; not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life.

Dig deep, find yourself. Dig deeper, and find God! All righteousness comes from Him, and your knowledge and wisdom of Him and what He, through the Holy Spirit, instills in you. Don't be hasty with words. Do a little case study on your own beliefs before you speak, and you will find that the wisdom of God will work through you beyond imagination. Righteousness is only right, if it's right.

GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK ... GOD DOES

You're probably remembering many instances where you have spouted off with words that you didn't prove for yourself, and feeling a little foolish, but instead of condemning yourself, I urge you to rejoice, that God always gives you the opportunity of mercy and the chance to investigate what is really right and wrong and even in between, because that's where the world loves to captivate the innocent ... The in between stuff, where you choose what looks right and sounds right and feels right, but isn't right.

Proverbs 16:25
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Become a detective for your Lord. Seek true righteousness ... Godliness.

Be a sleuth for the TRUTH!!!

And as always, reflect on God's Grace, every day of your life.
